How much would you charge me to fabricate one of those modified trays? I have no welding equipment or knowledge but would like to do this.

I love the zonkey humor and the fact that it masks a skilled, competent craftsman. I see a younger me in you but I had less direction or might I say my direction was old equipment not Rovers. Like you I am a jack of all trades master of none kinda guy and that has served me well being a road composite, then working CMO, mechanic for the railroad. The technical abilities that you have are somewhat lost on some of the audience of youtubeville but they are there and shine to the ones that know and understand, as the beautiful bacon frying sound testifies... :) Again thank you for the ride along and my vicariously living shop life again through you videos sir.

Appreciate that, and it shouldn’t be too far out for those. Probably a quick timing chain replacement then the sliders.

Nice work! I have my stock fuji white LR4 front and rear bumpers in my garage if you ever need one. I don't think I would ever need them now that I have my Tactical 4x4 rear and ARB Summit up front.
@LostCauseRanch2 жыл бұрын
Appreciate that. I may see if you want to sell the bumpers at some point. I want to cut into one for a tube/plate bumper along the lines of how most of the late model 4Runner bumpers are done. Essentially keep the painted parts and replace the textured black with tube and plate.

Great job but that's a lot of air flow being blocked to the radiator top and bottom
@LostCauseRanch9 ай бұрын
I don’t think there is a way to put a winch on the front of anything that doesn’t block some of the coolers up front. The bulk of the winch is hidden behind the plastic bumper cover and not covering the grilles. But either way I towed another LR4 750 miles with it this summer in 90-100 degree weather and it didn’t creep any of the temps.

Hello! Amazing job…. Is it possible for you to sell the winch plate “ready” to install on an LR3?
@LostCauseRanch Жыл бұрын
It may be possible. I'm considering launching a line of LR3/LR4 parts in the future here.

Please keep us posted!!! That would be great! I don’t have tools or experience to work steel, having the opportunity to buy them ready to install…. Makes me happy

Nice install. It certainly will suit jurisdictions that don't permit Bull-Bars ( don't know why Americans call Bull-Bars "bumpers", that is what factory units are called). Mt personal preference is to have a Bull-Bar, I like my ARB Winch Bar. All steel goodness!! I bought mine second hand, it had the factory fog lights and headlight washers installed. The only extra I installed was the winch. I really would like rock sliders - It would be great to see how you make them & install them. I suspect what you build for an LR4 would fit perfectly on an LR3??
@LostCauseRanch2 жыл бұрын
Bull bars here, I guess they would be kangaroo katchers in something like Australia. Rock sliders will be soon and should interchange between the two.

Do you think this would work on the LR3? I know the bumpers are a little different between them. I just wasn't sure if behind the bumper was that different between the LR3 and LR4.
@LostCauseRanch2 жыл бұрын
Yes it should, interchangeable behind the bumper for the two.

Any ideas for other mounting points for the controller? Prefer to minimize impediments on the radiator. Nice mod.

I was going to keep an eye on temps this summer when it gets warm, if there is any issues I am just going to move it behind the right side headlamp. There is some room between the headlamp and air filter housing to make a bracket up and put it there. Just have to extend the wiring to the winch itself is all.

Sounds like a good spot. I e been kicking this upgrade around in my head for awhile. Keep us posted on any changes you make.

What do you mean poor timing chain?
@LostCauseRanch2 жыл бұрын
Might be hard to hear in the video over the exhaust, but this one is due for timing chain replacement. Starting to rattle.
@eenis12812 жыл бұрын
@@LostCauseRanch ohhhhh it’s not the cadence of the engine right!? I ask because my LR4 sounds like that and a mechanic asked me if it was diesel before lol
@LostCauseRanch2 жыл бұрын
Had to say without hearing them in person, they are naturally louder because of the direct injection (injector setup is louder along with cam driven fuel pumps). So they do sound somewhat like a diesel because of that. This one has the loose rattle of a bad timing chain along with codes in the ecm related to camshaft timing.
