Thanks again Joe. This video is the reason Ren sells an angry carpark assistant figure on his store. That guy is part of Ren history and probably doesnt know it. Love the chemistry between Sam and Ren in this. You can tell they're good mates. Also, in the uk we would call that carpark guy a "jobsworth".(Well i probably would have called him something different but i will leave that to your imagination.) Defenition - A jobsworth is a person who uses the (typically small) authority of their job in a deliberately uncooperative way, or who seemingly delights in acting in an obstructive or unhelpful manner. It characterises one who upholds petty rules even at the expense of effectiveness or efficiency.

Some of my friends got together in a car park and filmed a very short horror movie. So we had fake blood everywhere, people screaming and being fake stabbed and stuff. It was one in the morning, and luckily nobody investigated. By the end of it, we had fake blood all over the front of our car, with bloody handprints up the side. It looked like we'd run someone over multiple times. We had water with us, so we cleaned up the blood on the ground, but that took all the water we had, and our car was still a murder scene. So we had to drive to a friends house (with one headlight pink because of the blood), slip the car into the back alley, and use our friends hose to wash the car off, at 3am, giggling our butts off, trying not to get caught. On the way there, we passed one car, and we turned in that car's direction, so this random dude saw the ENTIRE front and side of bloody art-scene, and he looked... dumb-founded. I don't know if he called the cops. If he did, they didn't find us, and we never heard anything about it. But it was hilarious.

I knew you'd love this one but what I didn't know is I was going to enjoy much more seeing you having so much fun with it! but tbh they're hilarious and unique. One thing that never stops to impress me in this one is the perfect "divine" timing for everything that happens FROM the moment they're kicked out: "the devil is chasing me". That guy after them. when they get into the stairs. The acoustics when the song starts speeding up, then walking flat again and Sam singing back to the camera but anyway his voice echoing in the parking lot. The string breaks going down, rapping, Sam behind the column and.... they just get to the exit door when the song is finishing!!! like really? wouldn't have turned out that perfect if planned. And we are kind cos you are kind Joe. Love to all of you beautiful souls!

Yessss! Been hoping you would check this out. And I love that you’re doing it after the official MV! Not just because the studio version is great but it also means you can really appreciate what they’re doing here with the singing. This is my favourite version though cause it’s just mind blowing how casually they’re killing the song while stuff goes wrong and they’re walking around. The talent it takes to just have fun with it and it comes out sounding like this? Insane. Plus their chemistry is great. Just two friends having fun in a car park 😂 And Ren taking the lead with a bit of rebellious attitude. Sam looks like he was ready to just stop when the car park attendant showed up and then got surprised by Ren continuing without batting an eye 😅 He followed along perfectly after that though. Makes you wonder how much of the magic that happens in collaborations with Ren is due to his personality and vibe… Just like his power to pull us in with his performances (something about this man just demands attention), maybe he has an infectious energy about him that pulls the best out of other artists? He is definitely something special 🐰🕳️

I love the way the film boys slide in an protect the performers backs, it shows a lot of respect between them . I think this is the same carpark that Flackerzphotoes filmed The GhostOf Carla Parks , they were talking about it in the begining of the film and Vik said he was a friends with the carpark attendant now, so perhaps since Ren made him famous and he has his own commemative figurine, he has become a little more friendly. I think there are quite a lot of girls wouldn't mind being in that sam-wich

All four versions (busking, official video, car park, and the MC Sessions) are great in their own respects. But I think the MC Sessions version is the best in terms of singing and clear mic recording. If you haven't checked that one, it's a good one. Also, I think everybody else was ready to pack it up, but Ren was like "f' it" and just kept going.

its less 'live' in that its definitely audio balanced in post, but then you get those glorious foot stomps out of it and everything is real crisp, they do good work over there. Definitely the best rendition of the song though, sam really shines there

My understanding of busking wouldn't include this because they're not on the street trying to catch an audience, and they don't have an open guitar case or whatever for donations. Not sure what the dictionary would say 🤷‍♀ So looking forward to the interview.

Yep - at least in my experience loving indie and unsigned artists in Canada in the 1980s + 1990s: Busking is a stripped-down, unpublicized performance (I know in the era of social media things have changed) in a public space with so seating (except for the shape of whatever urban infrastructure is in the vicinity), usually outside (tho in some circumstances you can arrange to be allowed to busk in some malls and markets), with a guitar case (or other "box") where people can toss money if they're appreciative (even if they can't slow down and stop as they walk by). Virtually ALWAYS in a place where there's CONSTANT pedestrian traffic, or you don't accumulate much in the guitar case/don't get much exposure. It's the original "pop-up" installation. ... that was the understanding of busking here, in that era, anyway.
