When I started taking Creatine 20 years ago, the normal way to take it was to do a loading phase followed by a maintenance. Given the amount I needed to pee whilst on the loading phase, I decided it is unsafe in high volumes. I also would wake up with calf cramps or have cramps when playing rugby… which I had never had before taking it. The other side effect I noticed was my hair would fall out. Now whether this was caused by the creatine director or just higher levels of Test due to increased training, I’m not sure, but others have said it made their hair fall out too. If I take it now, I just take a small amount. Previously my muscles would just ballon with water and when I came off it, it would all disappear. I do wonder what health issue will exist in 50yrs time when the impact of excessive protein and these types of supplements are recognised.

💯 i hope many people will like this comment for awareness... when u put too much creatine in your bloodstream remember your kidney filters it and if u do that many times your kidney will not function well in the future and u need maintenance the medicines are expensive or in some cases kidney transplant....not only that but if you drink soda or too much protein especially red meat your kidney is affected and other organs.. so for me more veggies on your diet.. it has a better contents of macro and micro nutrients and drink lots of water..

I've done a lot of my own research around this topic and I too, understand how well-studied creatine monohydrate is. The one concern I have, that links to your point about creatine being a relatively new invention, meaning it doesn't have any long-term research done around it, is that creatine could be linked to increased hair loss in individuals through the spiking of your body's DHT levels. I recently used creatine for about 30 days, I train exclusively calisthenics. I did not notice a big difference between training with or without creatine. My muscles got a bit bigger, but I think if I trained without creatine it would have been the same result. Also during and after training I did not notice a significant difference in strength. Maybe creatine isn't as effective for calisthenics athletes as for gym athletes, since you are certainly heavier while using creatine because your muscles have more water in them (this is true, look it up). My advice would be, watch your diet, you wanna eat healthy during your creatine intake period. Train consistent, you won't see any results if you dont train, obviously. And watch your progress/transformation closely, you might think you're not seeing any results while you are actually getting ripped af, so take photos! As for side effects, I only noticed feeling bloated a lot more, certainly after having my shake.

Typically if it doesnt work its due to lack of hydration, recovery and diet. The chemical structure of it ensures it will impact u , its just that some people are less sensitive to it so it might not help as much, still great tho just watch out for hairloss lol

MIGHTofMYTH . Nutrition is fine. Done all the calculations for carbs and protein so know that is ok. Hydration may be worth looking into. No hair loss. Anyway I gave up on that supplement.
@imjoecorner
@imjoecorner 3 жыл бұрын
@@DavidSmith-lk3yf It's highly improbable that your progress has been impaired as a result of taking creatine. I'm willing to bet that it would be culmination of training, nutrition and recovery that has potentially halted your progression not the supplement itself. If the rest of the factors are dialed in correctly as you would imply, then you would of made progress regardless of your supplementation. Adding in creatine will never be a deciding factor on how you move forward in terms of either body weight or progression in the gym. Creatine will saturate the muscles and allow you to push that a little bit harder, but if you're relying on it to take you to the next level then you need to take a step back and reassess your approach.

Yeah I got bathroom "number 1" pains from taking creatine, so I can confirm on the kidney problem at 7:25 personally. Got so salty that I had to stop the supplement, fealt more energy, reps, and gym motivation because of creatine. Although I'd rather not relieve my bladder with pain you know XD.

I just want to say the effects on creatine varies from each person, some have no effects some have minor and some like me have major effects. For me I started getting hair loss and my stomach was getting up set, I would recommend to still try it out though since it depends on the person not on creatine. For all we know its more of a genetic thing.

@@Sucso21 it was slow, now it’s still going but it gets slower and slower. Once you stop taking creatine you’re hair will go back to normal. For ex for me I’m almost having no hair loss. As I said, it’s all genetical though, it all depends on how you’re body takes it.
