You got most of it right, its genetic mainly and can come from mother or fathers side of the family. Its complex enough but basically the hair follicle is genetically susceptible to the offshoot of testosterone aka DHT. Theres a few things the can help you combat it if you run into bother, like Regaine solution or foam which increases growth span of the follicles but doesn't block dht as such but there are some topical dht blockers that can help deal with dht on the scalp. Both the Regaine and the blocker would have to be used as a stack,topical blocker in the morning and Regaine at night a couple of hours before bed. Some people try using dermarolling in conjunction with the regaine to improve effectiveness of it, basically dermarolling involves running a roller with needles which come in various needle lengths over the problem areas of the scalp. There have being studies done on all that. Got all that from research iv'e did over the last few months or so.

I took creatine about 2 months ago. It made a difference in my performance. I’m 28 and had never taken before. I didn’t load; just did 5g a day. I noticed a lot of hair on my pillow and hair on my hands when I would wash my hair(never experienced this before). I’ve looked at many videos (since creatine did help with my energy levels and focus at the gym). All the most popular videos were made by creators that had supplement sponsorships, had a supplement line or ties to the supplement industry. Long story short: I stopped taking creatine and about 2-3 weeks later I stopped shedding.
@mikerobinson48427 ай бұрын
You’re gonna see this same exact post over and over again, yet people deny it. I had the same experience. Taken finasteride for 5 years along with minoxidil. Never shed. 2 months in i lose literal clumps of hair. I’ve tried this more than 5 times. Even tried dutasteride while taking creatine. Nothing stops the shedding.

How "thick" your hair is is irrelevant to male pattern baldness. Creatine or even steroids for that matter does not cause balding, it only speeds up the process. However if you are genetically predisposed to MPB there are steps you can take to block the androgens that cause it. Finasteride/dutasteride and RU58841 are (to my knowledge) the things that actually affects the androgens that cause MPB. The results vary, but the success rate is quite high. You also might want to use something like minoxidil, which can increase your density, while it does nothing to address MPB directly however. (Edit: grammar)

I am as old as you and stopped taking creatine because I was scared of hair loss. I lost 5kg in water weight afterwards, but my physique didn't seem to be affected that much, if I have to be honest I look a bit leaner, because creatine makes you look a little bit bloated.

Joe is correct in what he says but he didn't mention that the increase in DHT is probably due to some other reason. As a rugby player myself i can confirm that we do a lot of work on our legs which cause DHT not creatine. The rugby players in the study experience more DHT due to vigorous rugby training. This has also only been shown on one study out of so many.

IVE DECIDED TO TAKE THE PLUNGE AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS Hello everyone, I’m assuming I’m talking to people between 16-40 years of age, if you’re older than this and worrying about hair loss, relax, I think you would have extremely evident hair loss by now if you had male pattern baldness. I’m 26 ALMOST 27 and hair loss has been something I’ve worried about since I began puberty. My hair currently is quite thick but has the start of a visible recession at the corners which has only concerned me in the last 2-3 years. I have a variety of good and bad hair retention in my family. My father has thick hair (although the corners have receded a bit. He is in his mid 50s. On my mother’s side, my grandad has very thin hair and is definitely at a point that I would shave my head. I’ve started using creatine. I use 5 grams a day with my protein shake and workout 4-5 times a week depending on how busy I am. I’m currently 2 weeks in and have NOT noticed any obvious hair loss. The corners of my hairline look the same and my shedding is the same also. I will update this comment in another 2 weeks. My physical appearance on the other hand has improved already. I’m always a bit sceptical when people say they’ve improved MASSIVELY in such a small amount of time. I’m completely honest and if anything will play down the benefits. My physique looks much fuller, bigger and defined and because I’m now really feeling the gym momentum I’m eating cleaner and seeing progress. My body feels healthier and less achey after a good work out and I’m lifting slightly heavier. So far so good but as always I’m waiting to wake up completely bald and regret my decision. So far it’s going as hoped. Stay tuned! Ask questions if you want :)
