i'm a bit neurodivergent and sometimes it's hard to tell what is and isn't acting. fortunately i'm an adult and don't get overly worked up about what happens in minecraft videos, but regardless it is good to have an occasional disclaimer that the conflict we see on hermitcraft is manufactured for entertainment

I think the way to force people to dig the sand themselves is to get the sand permit and then make it just expensive enough that people wont want to buy the sand to pay for the logs. That will minimize the time spent restocking the sand shop. On top of that, no one will really want to take over the permit because that would mean that they have to keep it stocked.

Cubfan mined for 6 hours and caved for 6 hours and measured how much diamond and other ore he got. An average of the caving (3.86 diamond per minute) and mining (2.7 dpm) figure per minute should provide a diamond per minute cost that you could then compare to sand or whatever else and could be used to set up the whole price scale for hermitcraft. The average is 3.28 dpm. However I'd say there are other things that add to the time cost of mining. I personally would say 2.5 to 3 dpm would be fair but when farms come into play you have to guess at the time to maintain them and stock them, plus average in the build time of the farm vs the projected amount of the resource to be sold

31:28 regarding the offhand mugs being wierd, it might have something to do with the "normals" direction. usually the normals face outwards, but my guess is that minecraft flips them when in the off hand. games usually render only the outward facing side of the normals, and the inside face is transparent for the sake of performance, hence why it looks like u'r seeing the inside of the mug. it should be fixable, since pearl and false has their custom models in their off hand all the time -a 3d artist
