We stayed at the Lake House in 1977. We flew into Lobster lake and canoed down the west branch of the Penobscot river to lake Chesuncook. We met Bert McBurnie and his wife. They were running the Lake House when we stayed there. I was 17. I am now 64 and it is one of my best memories.

Hey Joe ! Up till now I really liked you, Donny is still my hero . But when you mentioned you would like to get married in the church at Chesuncook my wife ran out the door and never looked back. Yup , she's tracking you down as we speak . Thanks a lot ol pal! LOL Just kidding , you really know what your viewers want to see. I've been wanting to visit the village for almost 30 years , just haven't made it happen yet. Great show, thanks a ton for bringing us along!

We used to hunt up in Northern Maine back in the 80's. Up around Northern Lumber/Paper land. Been trying to figure where we were back then but I was younger and we got access through some acquaintances of ours. Pretty sure it was on East Branch of Penobscot north of Millinocket. What I remember is there was nothing there except for some company shacks and a bunch of clear cuts and you made sure you had what you needed as we were 'Glamping' For the unknowing glamping is camping but in a fancy motor home. One of my sisters had a cottage on Moosehead. We used to go ride our sleds into Canada. i love Maine and the sign entering it on Rt1 Maine, The Way Life Should Be

As beautiful as Maine is one needs to be careful up north as one wrong turn can put one in great danger. It happened to Geraldine Largay back in 2013 around Katahdin. She made it nearly a month alone waiting for help that never came. Help was near but unfortunately not close enough

Love the video. It’s for sure a historical plc. Now I personally rode in that old army ambulance on my fathers 1999 zone 4 moose hunt. we stayed at reds and explored the village we had been up there ice fishing a few times we always stayed at Kelly camp that red had when we were ice fishing. But the archeologists were staying at that camp the week of our moose hunt. They had arrow heads like the man in your video explained pre dated the Penobscots now they personally showed us them. Now it’s a shame old red is gone. The supernaut family that was mentioned in the video is a dishonest bunch. The constant harassment of old red was disgusting. They showed up and arrested red with a helicopter that landed out front of his camp. He told my father the story as I sat there in his camp. My father testified in court on red’s behalf of the lies and harassment that we experienced from the family during our stay at reds on an ice fishing trip. # Outlaw # Outlaws chop shop palmyra Maine
