What alot of people forget, college coaching is two jobs, prepare the team, but just as important is recruiting, if you recruit well, your team will succeed at the same rate as good coaching will. So Saban is the best recruiter ever, and enough of a coach to not mess it up. College Coaching is a weird job to quantify greatness, because so much of a teams success is off the field or in between seasons.

listen. it is impossible to get all this talent that Skip tries to say Bama has over everyone. the 85 scholarship limit we have today prevents a hand full of Blueblood programs from stock piling talent. the fact is, yes Nick goes out and gets players. and so does Michigan, so does Ohio state. so does Oklahoma. so USC. so does Texas. so does FSU. so does UF. So does UGA. I could go on, but I think you get it. I think where Nick really separates himself from other college coaches is he develops the guys he gets. and he gets them to buy into team above the individual.

Jim Harbaugh has coached 39 games At Michigan. In those games he gave up 3 40 point games. Nick Saban coached 147 games and has gave up 8 40 point games. Nick Saban is hands down the greatest coach in the history of college football. I am a die hard LSU fan and you can't help but admire what he has been able to do at Alabama. LSU should have done whatever they could to keep him. He would have at least 3 if not 4 more championships if he would have stayed in Baton Rouge. It took him 2 years to build LSU to a National Champion 3 years to build Bama. He left LSU with a stacked rebuilt program. Can't help but root for Bama if LSU isn't playing for a title

Jerome Marshall Bwahahahahahahahahahahaha Saban has coached in the SEC since 2000 and won 6 NCs. The SEC conference has won 10 NCs during that time period, ACC three, Big 10 two, Big12 two, and PAC10 one. Even if you took Saban’s NCs out of that number the SEC still has more NCs than any conference during that time period.

I love looking back at this and seeing skip not realize that the art of recruiting is a coaching feat. As an athlete, you don’t go to a coming up school without confidence in its ability to shape into a great program. You have to have faith in the coach and the plan the coach has in place. Saban is great as a coach all around

6 National Championships, 1 with LSU, 5 with Alabama, played in all the College Football playoffs. 4 straight National Championships appearances, how many Sec championship? How many NFL stars did he trained. Only four Home losses. 6 straight top 5 ap final rankings. 9 total top five ap final rankings with Bama. And won national championships with Greg McElroy, A.J. Mccarron, and Jake Cooker, the only NFL type QB he has had is Tua but we'll see how well Tua will do in the NFL . Yeah I don't think Saban overrated at all.

Nick Saban won a conference championship by his third year and a national championship by his third year. Every Saban argument Bayless makes is stupid and can be defeated easily. Number of coaches with six national championships is two. Saban has done it having to win a conference championship, semi-final game, and then the national championship, something John McKay nor Bear Bryant had to do. He gets the best recruiting classes and coaches them up. I'm a Sun Devil and we've had stretches where we've had some top 25 recruiting classes in a row only to rarely be in the top 25. Tennessee under Butch Jones had some terrific recruiting classes and under-performed and even Florida State under Jimbo Fisher slightly under-performed these last few years with top ranked recruiting classes. Skip just doesn't like Saban, just like LeBron, Andrew Luck, or name a player/coach because once Skip doesn't like a guy he'll say "They haven't done this" and when they do that repeatedly then he changes the goal posts to something else. I'll give him credit, he's made a great career by providing idiotic arguments.

Saban is overrated. It showed in the pros. He is great in college because he can stack his teams however he likes. In the pros he was unsuccessful because he can’t just stack his team with recruiting classes. He missed the playoffs both years and the team actually regressed the second year after they were hyped up to be something big. The second year after Saban left the team actually went 11-5, showing there was something there but Saban just knew he couldn’t coach the team. In terms of recruiting, Nick Saban is obviously the GOAT, but in terms of pure coaching Urban Meyer, Jim Harbaugh, and potentially Dabo are better or just as good.

Joe Klatt is a band wagon guy, not an analyst. He has constantly shown his ignorance since being with ESPN . Case in point was when he show boated his ridiculous idea that Clemson didn't deserve to be in the playoff the first two years, when they played arguably 2 of the best championship games in NCAA history against the Crimson Tide. He is a Big12 apologist and shows his ignorance weekly against sane arguments. Skip is absolutely correct in his assessment of Saban. If you have all of the best players and it isn't even close, it's not too difficult to win. I look forward to the 2019 college season to see the next stupid take Klatt comes up with!
