I just used my onnex clicker for the first time with my v3 31 tonight!!! This is a game changer. My shots instantly improved. I was shooting 10’s and x’s from 20 30 and 40 yards with no problems. Thanks to MFJJ for shipping it and my halo nocks fast so I could practice before the rut!!!

The teaching from Turner (and his son) to not focus on aiming but focus on the movement of the release is truly something to listen to if you want to increase your shot quality. I've done it, and my shooting has really improved. If you study what he teaches, you will find that he recommends a very light bow setup so that your body can more easily move it to center at the last millisecond before the shot breaks. Sounds pretty interesting and counter to what has been taught over the years. If my release process is consistent, I shoot way better even with quite a bit of pin float.

This is genius. I love shooting a thumb button but suffered from not knowing how much pressure to place on the trigger shot to shot and for me to overcome this, is to make the release as light as possible. Just going to have to purchase one more release this season...:)

Preload on the button has always been my downfall for a button release. This makes perfect sense having a click to preset your pressure on the button. Wonder why nobody else thought of this a long time ago!!! Glad to see Stan has come out with this amazing revelation to an already awesome release!!! 👍👍👍

There was a “Thumb release” called HBX signature series by T.R.U. Ball that was capable of shooting thumb or hinge. It was developed with input from Reo Wilde and the thumb could be shot with or without a clicker.. you can set the speed/ travel to fast or slow.. I have ordered the connex c to see if the technology was improved. But their has been a Thumb release with a clicker on the market before.

It’s using the thumb to activate. As in you squeeze the thumb to get the click and squeeze it again to fire. Same motion.

@larrywalicki Жыл бұрын
So with this release, you are continuing to squeeze the trigger after the click? Is that what he meant by a single digit manipulation? I use a hinge quite a bit, and I roll the release to get it to break cleanly, just wondering if thats what he is suggesting we do with this release but with the thumb? Squeeze to the click, slowly squeeze further to get it to fire

Now, that is a handheld I might possibly try. I personally struggle pulling through the shot. Because of the movement in my anchor point. Even though it's just a very small movement, it still messes with my shot. Awesome review.

Can we get an crossbreed with a hinge motion to the click, then thumb pressure to fire? That would be the best of everything, I use the click as a "here we go" but also I know that everything is lined up form wise when it clicks as a point to pull from.

I Agree with JJ that there needs to be a wrist strap🤷♂️ used a wrist strap release for years and after a couple seasons of running a thumb button it’s annoying having to pull it out of wherever you store it on yourself before you can get ready to draw back on anything which can easily result in missing your shooting window
@bryanmoorefield8890 Жыл бұрын
I bought a Lanyard that you use to secure a camera or whatever to your wrist, a 5 pack was like $5. It works great. You attach it with a loop ( there is a hole in the release) and then slide the piece on the lanyard to tighten it to wrist. 👍

Back tension, back tension, back tension. Now single digit manipulation. What's it going to be next year...
@davidryder33742 ай бұрын
Exactly. I'm new to shooting with a release this year and have been struggling, but I feel like I'm finally starting to get smoother with the whole "pull through" thing. Now here's an 'expert' saying to go back to pulling a trigger. BTW, when my instructor yelled at me for punching the trigger once, I pointed out that I'd spent the previous evening watching Toja Ellison shoot on YT and SHE punches the hell out of the trigger. He said, "She shoots 400 arrows every day. When YOU shoot 400 arrows a day, you can get away with punching the trigger." :D
@ponce1521 Жыл бұрын
Honest question here but how is this not punching the trigger? Ive seen a lot if his videos over the years teaching shooting and this seems almost like punching to me? Whats the difference in pulling slow with one finger on an index release? Im genuinely curious as im trying to take my shooting to the next level. I use an index release and am looking to go to a thumb or this click thumb release.
@josephstanczak4340 Жыл бұрын
So coming from a Scott Sigma guy, which do you prefer? The Stan Onnex C or the Scott Sigma or Apex? I realize that is subjective, but from a quality build/shot perspective, any difference to matter?

This is the wrong release. I made the right release in the Turner style, it has such a long trigger stroke that you can forget why you're pressing it. I can press the trigger halfway and then another third with two stops and then cancel the shot and go drink beer.

I don't believe this release will help anyone with target panic and/or trigger punching. Might make it worse in reality. If you are a disciplined thumb button user, this could be great for sure. If you are a thumb button trigger puncher and/or have target panic, this is not going to help that.
@phantomcruizer6 ай бұрын
The man said in the video the most efficient method to firing a thumb button release was by slowly squeezing the trigger with the thumb, “single digit manipulation”. He also says take your time, focus, and ignore all distractions! This could be the part that helps eliminate target panic.
