What a beautiful meal! I honestly think that living in Thailand would be healthier for me. The array of fresh vegetables and flavors and pride in preparation is really heart warming. The fact that quality is important and common and not seen as a luxury. I love to see the children and how they are so polite and raised to value family. I was 20 pounds lighter when I lived there, and are whatever I wanted. Lots of walking and sweating. Air quality could easily counter the healthy diet you'd have. However, if you have a decent amount of $$, the lifestyle for an expat is quite nice.

Hey cool to see this! Cool that you have experience with both places... I have found over the past 12 years (with A LOT of thought into this, you remember this was literally my job for more than 1 year, writing articles about life in Thailand), living a very basic lifestyle here is much 'cheaper' than the same in the USA, living a fairly basic one is somewhat cheaper, living a comfortable lifestyle here (and thats up to opinion of course) costs about the same speaking in terms of only cash, but in my opinion its the same life but with less stress to get it! so for me, this is where the people of Thailand 'succeed,' and finally, a lifestyle full of high-end stuff actually costs far more here than it does in the USA (mostly because you will be paying 2 to even 5 times more for every item because every item will be taxed heavily on import). This info is also all true for my life in Kenya as well, and therefore, I imagine can be roughly estimated across the developing world. @Vonn Powell @Major Allen Espy

The kids in this video are adorable. But what I love the most is listening to you speak the local language and conversing with the locals. It's really inspirational as I'm currently in Mexico but I struggle so much with conversational Spanish even though I know 4 other languages and it should be easy for me to speak it. It motivates me to listen to you speak with such confidence! ☺️

Haha Sonexay, oh man, what a comment :) :) Well, hope the power has since returned... but for now, yahoo! what a great one, and yeah that multi-tool is basically the only thing you need for papaya, for mango, for carrots, for.... its amazing. SAAP SAAP man, for sure, this is the essence of SAAP literally haha :). The Koi Paa just killed it!

@@JoelsTastyRide unfortunately still no power - about 4 hours now. Yeah that multi tool is cool! I’m not comfortable to “fawk” the papaya because I’m nervous about cutting my finger. I use a shredder but I don’t like it much as it makes the strands too skinny and uniform - I believe Som Tum should be rustic. Oh man I love a good Koi Pla or koi pla muk or koi goong. SAAP SAAP!
