There are unknown independent artists who don't do any of that type of promo but still build an audience. for up coming artists, old skool promo is great for good looking young people or people who have a very strong back story to sell, frankly it doesn't usually work for anyone out of that ideal regardless of how many supporters they have.

I remember back in 2007 there was a guy named Derek Rhodes who was making edits on Wikipedia and catfished MySpace profiles pretending to be a signee of Missy Elliott's label The Goldmind Inc. and claimed that Ciara produced the lead single off his album which turned out to be a song off Missy's former signee Jessica Betts' debut album "You Can't Resist" (2000). To add insult to injury he kept bragging that he was an opening act for Chris Brown's 2007 touring venue and the clips featuring him performing turned out to be shots of obscure singer Boxie. Some of the evidence is still lingering here on KZbin with the fake titles but upon further research I think he stopped and moved on and has since become a public speaker. I mean I'm hoping it stays that way...

Dress to impress is a super popular Roblox video game in which you have 5 minutes to make an outfit with the clothes and accessories around based on a randomly generated theme, then you will walk a runway and the other players will vote you from 1-5! The top 3 players are placed on a podium and you wait for the next round to begin. The lana lore is about the nail lady, Lana, who does you nails during the rounds. But it's not all quite what it seems.. On the 1st of April 2024, Dress to impress comes out with an April Fools update including some funny, long toe nails alongside a creepy diary placed on a shelf near Lana's desk. In it, Lana talks about how she's sick of people not knowing her name and everyone calling her "the nail lady". The next day, when the update is removed with the toe nails, the diary remains and stays. Since then and to this day, the internet and dress to impress stans have come up with many theories to try and uncover the disturbing truth about Lana. There came a new nail lady named Lina, a whole quest inside dress to impress about the lana lore for Halloween and even other roblox games outside of dress to impress were made. Not music, but this is quite common with some book authors in some countries. Writers from well-off families buy press/magazines articles, claim their books are bestellers and yet nO ONE in the entire web is talking about their books.

I knew at some point a guy who did something like this. He was trying to be a dj posting songs etc. and somewhat advertising by being a part of a fan group for a super famous other dj. So basically he posted songs on his page and one time I decided to see if Google could recognize the songs as his. And the two latests songs he had at the time all came back as being from other creators. What really upset me is I remember there was a KZbin channel who posted the song as being his when they weren't at all his. The posting dates on the videos verified it for me. What I think are the originals, were posted earlier than his so there was no mistaking them. I remember texting the new group chat where he wasn't in and telling them how he lied. I have no idea how much of his stuff was actually his own or just lesser known artist's recycled as his. He also posted remixes at some point in his "career" which again I have no clue if he ever made any of them himself.

you might want to review your video's audio levels. i thought i had the volume on normal, then the ads came on blasting louder compared to your narration.
