Our culture needs more of this open discussion based media. Joe Rogan is such a respectful and thought provoking conversationalist to the extent that I would go as far to say that he could be viewed as a good role model for young people of our time. J C because main stream science is based on person feelings now, these people are taking it personal when someone says "well look at this evidence" then someone says "well wheres the evidence? Wheres the facts?" Well the Ice over North America was 2 miles thick... thats 10,560 feet right? If that broke and shattered from an impact, that civilization would most likely be swept up into the oceans, or buried in massive deposits in that area and massive flooding on the other side of the earth from and water being shot into the air in vapour causing massive down pours on the other side of the world from where the impact happened (they found animal deposits under the black crust from that era... but no other animals from that era above it? Weird right?) Or they'd be ripped apart and ground down by the shifting ice and water going like 50-70 miles an hr as well as the trees and rocks being carried by said water... so ask yourself, would there be much evidence other than 30-100 ton stones and some painting and inscrptions left over, would you be able to find other artifacts, I mean c'mon watch a Tsunami video, and add hunders of more feet to that wave and imagine what would happen, these people get so defensive when you question their knowledge about the history of the earth, and they think "we humans are gods creatures we were meant to rule, no one else, so there for no other civilization could come before us!" Even tho a world flood and fires would leave hardly anyone or anything (we'd be thrown into the mind sets of cave men 'cause there'd be no one to re-teach us) I mean they haven't even explored our oceans beyond 5% and they only look for ships, they don't dig into the ground and think "well if a flood did happen... maybe everything in it's wake would be swept up and carried to the ocean once it recieded" they just dismiss it. Cuz they take it personal, for example I was setting up a trampoline and one spring was off set by one, and the person I was setting it up with got pissed off and tried removing it, and I said "well lets put them all on so the tension is even on all of the springs as well as the trampoline, therefore the spring will be easier to remove" well I questioned his intelligence there, and he got defensive, (btw this was my dad lol) he later came back after I left and said sorry your idea was right, but you see... other people won't be big enough to admit they were wrong, they'll fight to prove they were right the whole time.

It's a brilliant line, though interpretation is the issue; Some will hear this exactly as intended, an indictment on Western culture and our need to be satiated by technology, while others will misinterpret it as an indictment on political progressivism and the quest for justice/equality. What Mr.West is saying, in many ways, is the truest tenet of human progress, in that what we all yearn for deep down is truth and understanding. We only divert our interests when society punishes us enough for having them, but before that occurs -- while we're still young and haven't yet had the curiosity beaten out of us -- we're all exactly as he describes. Our nature is to be connected; To discover new things and to grow spiritually, emotionally and psychologically. Everything else is learned behavior. Things we adapt to fit into society. If not for those barriers, we'd all be more enlightened people. He mentions Tibet in this conversation, and if you look at Tibetan monasteries where children learn to meditate and practice mindfulness from a very young age, you see how different we are in comparison. How much more materialistic we are, and selfish, and prone to conflict. That's not something we're born with; That's something we're conditioned to become.

It’s true, to anyone who actually knows construction, the standard explanation does seem quite absurd. You can’t cut granite with steel, let alone copper. I use a diamond saw and that still wouldn’t get the job done. People who accept the old theories don’t understand engineering, probably because they’ve never swung a hammer.
