Love this shit, joe is the GOAT for letting people like this have a platform to be heard

Just remember that you won't find another independent scientist who agrees with his theory. He's full of shit and Joe is the only one ignorant enough to let him speak. You see Joe's limits as good...LOL
@Valkonnen4 жыл бұрын
@eileen hathwaite There are thousands of scientists who all agree, based on what we know. People like Joe, who NEED to believe so badly and are so impressionable are the only people who believe this guy. Anyone who understands that science is based on independent scientists who are out to prove you wrong. once they all independently come up with the same repeatable conclusion, that is how discoveries are made. He and Randall Carlson and Graham Hancock are starting at a point where they all need to believe that human civilizations came from somewhere other than from humans themselves. Ten years ago Rogan (The only type dumb, limited and impressionable enough to buy this idiocy) would have believed that Aliens built the pyramids because HE couldn't grasp how they moved such huge blocks. Now that he has been shown, he knows what he used to believe was bullshit. He has a friend, Eddie Bravo, who literally thinks that space is fake. Again, it boils down to being limited. A person who has NEVER studied any type of astronomy and mapped the moon phase and planets by actually looking into a Telescope would not be able to grasp that or ANYTHING beyond their limited scope. Your conjecture is that , " a history of the status quo being forcibly kept in the face of new science." and you mention Galileo.....That was a long time ago , and well before thousands of scientists have all come together with advanced findings. They used to think that Tomatoes were poisonous, and they NEVER ate them out of fear. That has nothing to do with the way scientific findings are arrived at today. One guy believes things are much older than we once thought. out of thousands of others who date the area the same independent of each other...You do the math. It helps NO ONE for all of the worlds scientists to be in cahoots to keep the truth from people..
@logike774 жыл бұрын
@eileen hathwaite Schoch sold out to woo some time ago. He says we should look at the evidence and not rely on authority. Agreed. But that means we should look at ALL the evidence. There are plenty of geologists who studied the Sphinx and disagree with Schoch. And Egyptologists didn't just make up the age of the Sphinx out of thin air either. So there is a lot of evidence that Schoch just chooses to ignore. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sphinx_water_erosion_hypothesis Also, mainstream archeologists and Egyptologists are not a bunch of dogmatists holding onto their pet theories in the face of refutation. When archeologists discovered Gobekli Tepi was thousands of years older than the date they had put on the origin of civilization, for instance, they immediately rewrote their views. The reason why they currently don't budge when Schoch makes an appearance is because Schoch, not them, is ignoring evidence that undercuts his hypothesis and because there are alternative explanations for what Schoch discovered. You have to weigh the totaL evidence, folks, not ignore evidence when it is inconvenient for your own views. This is really easy to describe. Suppose you have two competing hypotheses A and B. If A has 100 data points in its favor, and B has only 5 data points in its favor, which is more likely, A or B? And if the 5 data points in favor of B can be easily explained away with another hypothesis C, then B is even more unlikely. This is why ordinary non-experts who think they can challenge the experts in a field are way out of their league. They simply don't have all the background knowledge of the subject they are pontificating on. This is also why the burden the proof is on the challengers, not the mainstream experts. If the challengers think B is the correct hypothesis, then they have the burden of explaining away the 100 data points in favor of A. SCHOCH HASN'T DONE THAT YET!
@logike774 жыл бұрын
@eileen hathwaite What Galileo challenged at the time was the status quo of religion, not the status quo of scientists. The consensus view of scientists exists because of a long history of the accumulation of evidence supporting the current paradigm. It's not because they "took a vote" or appealed to God, faith, and the Bible. If someone like Schoch notices an anomaly, that's all it is. An anomaly. It does no good ignoring all the other evidence supporting the current paradigm just because you get excited about a few rocks. The burden of proof is on Schoch. He wants to rewrite Egyptian history. But he can't, because all the other evidence shows he's full of baloney. Duh, this is how normal science works. Scientists ALWAYS reject new ideas, and it's not because they're being dogmatic. It's because the new idea is contrary to so many other things that are already evidentially well-supported. In order to overthrow a paradigm, you need to do a lot better than Schoch, like when the Theory of Relativity replaced Newtonian mechanics.
@jochananberohart35784 жыл бұрын
@@Valkonnen The 3 people you mentioned did not even claim that aliens were in the game. This shows how little you are interested in the scientific method if you act in a polemic and slanderous way instead of confronting the evidence of the different theses and then positioning yourself. In the end they are all theses! See Gobekli Tepe, whose discovery refutes the previous assumptions.

I think what makes me like these type of podcasts so much is because they are timeless. I don't have to listen to them in any particular order. It doesn't matter if I listen to them repeatedly. I will always learn something new. These scientists drop so much knowledge in the time they are given. Plus the comments are always positive. I think jre subscribers for the most part really appreciate these gems when we get them. Thanks for giving my brain something that I never knew it needed.
@andrewtataj4974 жыл бұрын
sometimes order helps. This one, in particular predated the discovery of the greenland crater (nov 2018) which hancock and santa claus will point to as evidence for the impact theory. Work on dating that impact is still ongoing, but so far, so good for their theory. But this is what I love about science, how I can follow a topic for years, and each new discovery can shift the overall prevailing theories. And by looking at how they're testing these theories can give you an appreciation of the cumulative effort all this knowledge really is. gold333 I need to congratulate you. I have never in my life witnessed such an angry hateful vitriolic comment that came out of nowhere. He may have been a very pushy talker crowding out Joe, but nothing he said seem disingenuous by any length. He used solid science to discover never before seen spaces in the sphinx. He couldnt say anything else about what in the space because the tech he was using couldnt say anything more about it. Check it bruv.

Luciud you're a gullible moron. "Those ancient Egyptians used prior knowledge to build the pyramids." Because those rag tag Egyptians could never have build them themselves. Right. You remind me of people believing Plato's Atlantis. A super advanced civilization with vassals everywhere gets wiped out in 10,000 BC, then NO OTHER civilizations records mention them, no archeological evidence, ZERO. Until one dude 9700 years later (Plato) writes a story about them. A super advanced civilization disappears overnight and no one talks about them, not a SINGLE mention. Until 1 guy 9700 years later. It must be real then right mommy???! Right? I fucking hate how gullible people are. There's a reason that actual scientists (you know, people who have studied for years) don't even take this guy seriously. The worst part of it he knows he is lying just to sell his bullshit books to idiot gullible people like yourself. God I hate stupid people. And that's laying aside how incredibly rude and racist this must seem to actual Egyptians.

I hate lying morons with little beady black eyes acting all innocent and polite and conning people out of their money with their bullshit books. "Reusing old knowledge to make the pyramids." Racist idiot. Because those dirty rag tag ancient Egyptians could never have built the pyramids themselves. Right. Fucking morons. And gullible fools buying his shit.

@rockajiqta16 жыл бұрын
@@per2 I am sorry, I was not clear enough. My point is that even if parts of the same comet/asteroid hit both earth and sun(lately I tend to think this is the most adequate explanation), the primal cause still is that same comet and not a solar outburst, triggered by some obscure solar cycles or activities as there is no solid evidence for such(yet).
@dongambino53085 жыл бұрын
@@rockajiqta1 I'm pretty sure solar flares are a very real thing though, I mean I'm not a scientist or anything but from my understanding the sun does actually send out solar flares and it's happened before. So if that is true a solar flare isn't impossible for it tk happen, it could be likely but idk I don't have any actual facts, just hear say. Pretty sure that's what an EMP is, electro magnetic pulse, released by a solar flare. Like I said I could be wrong

First of all that wasn't the argument. The argument was that he wasn't a scientist. Period. Second of all, he most certainly is qualified to say things like the sandstone around the edge of the Sphinx enclosure has been suffering from water erosion, since that falls exactly into his field of expertise.
