Joe has always had his own sound, since the beginning. That's golden for any musician. He was smart enough to never deviate from that. The Eagles hired him, to be an integral part of the band. He did that, while bringing his sound into the picture whenever required. He's a LOT smarter than he lets on.
@jamesthe-doctor89814 жыл бұрын
I only remember him “letting on” to being smart. In fact, he claimed to be a genius that one time, in that one interview introduction. I can’t remember who the interviewer was or precisely what was said by either; but it was on a talk show. When Walsh claimed to be a genius, the host repeated the word back to Joe as an interrogative: “Genius?” Joe’s reply was simply: “70 million records.” It’s probably more like 100M by now.

I was an oppressed, repressed, physically, emotionally and mentally beaten up kid to teen. I *loved* crazy..Joe Walsh, Keith Moon, Sid Barrett apart from this baby fledgling muso embracing the music…the through sheer insanity these guys let loose the feelings of anger, frustration, hurt, confusion that I couldn’t..in my prim and proper little world. I loved them for it, for saying the truth things, and launching into a form of organised chaos, which was truly cathartic.

Sometime around ’70 I heard Funk #49 and switched from drums to guitar. The rest is history. I’ve been with him since the James Gang. He’s real, humble, a survivor and an awesome musician. Like a fine wine, he gets better with age. I could listen to Joe play guitar all day long. Thanks for it all Joe! Keep it coming please. Peace.

Joe is more important to me than even Ed Van Halen or Jimmy Page. He is #1. I picked up the guitar 40+ yrs ago and Joe is the main reason. I dread the day we lose him....BIG TIME! I hope I go first, and I know how insane that sounds but at times when I hear him or see him I do feel that way.

Oh Joe. You had my young heart at 14, in 79 and you never let go. Through hell and high water, I'm happy and grateful for you. I don't care what they say, "Don't believe anything you hear and only half of what you read.", said Poe. I saw a long legged man last month at the grocery wearing a self made shirt that simply stated " FUNK 49" and I couldn't help but shout out "GO JOE!". I should have married him on the spot and we could have traveled to see more of you but lost site of him so I sit here and watch more of you. They say "Never meet your heros." and now I know why. I sit here teary- eyed because of life's time-line and if I met you I'd definitely cry. Xoxo STAY ALIVE. 🥰💘💚

I'm an analog man, love it, huh, I am to. Joe is a long time musical brother, from the days when I first saw that James Gang cover and they were riding motorcycles in the snow, yeah, we're a couple of Ohio boys ( to some extent), and I do ride bikes in the snow to. Anyways, looking back through the years I was never disappointed listening to Joe Walsh, everything's he's been in , the Eagles was great. It's truly the end of a generation that will probably , well, things will never be like they used to I suppose. I hope I'll still be able to see Joe, the Eagles, Stones..etc, in 2024 ya know?

Joe Walsh is just as original as they come. Cool as they get. Not big headed in any sense of the word. His music is a reflection of his life. And when you take a great story like Joe's and his life, be able to write like he does, and play like he does, chances are it's a hit when the idea is not only put on paper, but sang and played by him as well. He would sit down and talk with anyone I believe, and show anyone how to write a song a play guitar. What a treat that would be huh? And I think his vocals are as great as his guitar playing. Just a great rock sound in both. You're one cool cat Joe! 👍

He is such a humble down to earth man. He has inspired me for my entire life. The lyrics to Living the life of illusion is something that I badly needed to hear, and cling to, at that point in my life. Hey, don't you know ita waste of your day, caught up in endless solutions. That have no meaning, just another hunch, based upon jumping conclusions. Another words don't waste your time worrying, it gets you nowhere. Stop spinning your wheels. The song gave me strength when I needed it the most. What would life have been like without Joe Walsh? It would have been colder ...
