About 8 years ago, I was walking down the stairs on a rainy day. I slipped and the my body just slide through the edge of each stair. I broke my left arm that day but it recovered after 3 weeks. But seriously, that was painful. Rain and slippery stairs are killer

Atmosphere is the word you're looking for. Another completely masters the atmosphere. I really loved the series, and the only other horror to top it for me, was Higurashi, and it's contrast. Would be nice to see you review that :3 Also my favorite death scene was the cable strangle scene at the last episode (or the one before that?).

I would say that "Another" is the first Horror story I've liked, ever. I've disliked the genre as portrayed by Hollywood. While people do die tragically in Another, the story was more intriguing because it was way more mysterious, with just enough gore to chill my blood. In other horror flicks, I am usually laughing or yelling at the TV like "why would you do something that stupid!". For Another, I was actually saying, "NO! Don't do 'that'".

When I think about the whole premise of this show I often think that the Grim Reaper was super duper pissed at Class 3-3 for luring Misaki back to the world of the living, so he punished the classmates by killing them or their families one by one. That or the Grim Reaper has shitty aim and still fails to realize that he does even after 26 years.

I've watched Another, and also read it's novel. I read the Chinese version and it was super thick. The anime series was really interesting and it's story had captivated me. I literally agree to what Joey said, like everything. The novel was slightly different from the anime series in some parts, which was really predictable, but everything else was basically the same. (I read it after finishing the anime) If you can't find the novel to read, the manga is also a good choice! It is based off the novel, from my interpretation of the first few pages. The anime series was amazing too!! Y'all should go watch it!!

*WARNING: I'm addressing those who watched "Another." Wich means this comment contains spoilers of this anime series. If you don't want your show to be spoiled by a random dude, DO NOT click Read More.....Or take your own risk. Either way, you have been warned!* I have 2 problems with this series. The first one is...THE PLOT ITSELF. I mean, the locals of the town must've noticed how all the deaths happened at that school, and didn't do shit about it, for several decades students at class 3 were constantly dying, yet nobody in the town gave a shit about it, or didn't bother to move to another town or even close the damn school for that matter to prevent the next calamity. Also, it's funny how the students don't ask questions like "what is killing us? Is it an evil spirit? A curse? Or the hunted class itself?" they mainly try finding ways to end it without trying to know why they're getting killed, they're just accepting what's going on :/ The second problem is, MISAKI MEI'S POWER. She said that her left eye can see the extra person. So unstead of telling who the extra person is, and save the entire class from brutal deaths, she just stood there, did nothing for 11 episodes, except for letting most of her classmates die in the most horrible ways imaginable and decied to reveal the extra person on the last second. -2 for the plot holes.

Omni- King the first 7 episodes misaki is ignored, she can't tell them. There's the problem of people in the class like the guy with heart disease and the other with asthma. Misaki isn't even sure if she can see death, she doesn't realise before kouici says he sees no colour in the photo. Misaki never show any emotions towards any other student, she seems more fond of the doll based off her still born cousin than her classmates except kouichi.

Another novel is the reason I started learning japanese. Anime was awesome and when I found out about novel, I had to read it. I study japanese for just a year now, but I will read it! One day I will! And for the end of anime, my mind was blown as well. That was really something. With that great and scary atmosphere it´s definetly one of the best anime :)

I just finished watching this series and god damn was I shocked. It took me a week to recuperate after the elevator scene to start watching it again and damn I’m glad I did. I really enjoyed the relatively calm ending compared to the rest of the series and glad my favorite character Yuuya made it out alive. The dvd scene at the very end was also good at helping the world feel alive like it continues on after you finish watching the class of 09 (was it?) anyway it was an enjoyable watch. Edit: just saw someone’s comment about the dance scene a few comments below and hell I got to agree with them on how great it was.

Never read the light novel, but I DID read the manga before watchin' the anime. And I haveta say, I enjoyed the manga much more, because the way they've presented the story, the pencil-work, and The Ring-like atmosphere is real impressive. Even the reveal had been so effective, it fuck'd my mind to a million pieces, lol.
