I don't know how I've never met you, only being 1 year apart and a fellow SF native, but I got all the feels from this video. I've lived in Davis, New York, LA, and San Jose... but there's no place like home. Although my wife and I had been working toward purchasing a home here, it seems more like a distant dream due to the rising cost of housing and yearly income raises not matching. I think we're starting to resolve to the fact that we may forever rent here and not own a house. But that's doesn't make SF any less of our home. As always, looking forward to future videos from you, regardless if it's SF, San Pablo, or in between.

I moved to SF after college, met my husband there....but his Navy career took us away. I am now well into retirement, having lived in 17..,honest!! different American places. With one exception, , I have loved them , all, and given me a broad view of my country, . I honestly can say that I could not move back to SF. Not for the social decay..,I just like the life I have built in my current western city. You are a very compelling storyteller, and you will do well in your new digs..,

How far is your new place from SF? I visited SF twice and I really liked the city it's not too big and yet there's a little bit of everything. Amazing 360 panorama everywhere it's truly unique, it must be hard for you to leave. Best wishes from France

Moved out of the city more than 20 years ago. I'm so glad I did. I don't need to look for parking for 20 minutes in my neighborhood just go walk back home every night. I don't need to pay for a permit just to park in my own neighborhood. No more stuck in traffic or MUNI delays. I've been so much happier. SF is just a city of rip-offs. So happy that you're moving out.

Opposite experience here. Moved to SF from Chicago and there is parking on every corner here, the food is amazing, the nature is everywhere, the national parks nearby are a gift from god, the arts and entertainment here are on another level. Its expensive, but like most things in life, you get what you pay for. And I would happily pay even more to stay in this amazing city. Cheers.

So on point, the city is our hometown so that is home for us. When I'm in the city so many memories come up but thats why because 'we were already in the city' no matter where we go it will always be that way. Looking forward to you discovering a new place! My family left SF years ago but you'll find places with similar vibes all over the Bay Area as well as ones just unique to where you live. It takes some adjustment because we tend to have everything we need in the city but the adventure of finding it out in a new place is exciting and creates new lovely memories!

Born in SF. Lived there until I was ten then my parents moved to pleasant hill. As a adult moved to SF and lived in the Mission D on 19th and Guerrero. Now live in Oakland because of work and cheaper but I’m a 20 min Bart ride into SF and while I miss living in the city at least I’m close and not in some desert with 100 degree everyday.
