Just so Arkansas fans are aware, "massaging the clock" will lose you 3 out of 5 of your two-possession games. It means with 2 min left, you are up 6, DJ Waggner dribbles slowly past mid court, holds his fist in the air to call your set, dribbles for 12 more seconds. Now, with 10 seconds left on the shot clock, adou comes and sets a screen while the 3 others are around the peremiter. DJ goes right, Adou rolls to just above the elbow, DJ dishes and Adou takes a 19 footer, it bounces out, defensive rebound fast break bucket the other way. And repeat the next possession. I know, I know, Im crazy. Boogie would have the ball in that situation. NOPE. Although Boogie having the ball WOULD make sense there, Cal will not go away from his boy DJ. And yes, you will be infuriated.

It's been that way for years with this team (especially football), and disappointment just comes standard with being a Razorback fan. That said, I'm really glad that Cal chose to come to Arkansas. I'm also grateful for the players who came aboard. There will be some adjustments that need to be made, but that's just part of it. I think everything will work out just fine.

Cal sucks, and it's hard to believe it, but he's even worse at Arkansas. Can't shoot the three, can't defend the three, can't defend the pick and roll, can't stop a straight line drive to the basket. NONE of that has improved, and it's even worse. Even more criminal is there is not, and never has been, ANY player development under Cal. DJ and Big Z are somehow WORSE this year than last year when this SHOULD be the year of their biggest jump in improvement. I feel bad for his players. I know this for SURE. UK would have lost to Duke by 20+ if Cal was still the coach. Pope made half time adjustments based on data, and they worked. He played the right personnel (not leaving the two lottery pick players on the bench), and doesn't do an auto switch off on D that makes it brain dead and easy for players but leads to serious match up issues. I couldn't be happier for Kentucky, but really feel for Cal's new players.

As an Arkansas fan, the only thing that is concerning is the lack of depth in the front court, and that has been obvious for a while now. Not sure Aidoo will play this year, so having to adjust expectations accordingly. Defense has compensated so far, but not having a good 5 is going to hurt a LOT when conference play starts. Having said that, a super-talented, super-athletic team that gives maximum effort on both ends of the court can go a long way. Loving the players and effort shown so far! Go Hogs!

Listen all UK fans know what’s going on. Arkansas fans don’t tell us how this works we’ll tell you. I have followed Calipari closely for 27 years. For those of you who are Arkansas fans you’ve never followed him at all. This will get worse but he’ll win a few to keep you thinking it’s turning around. Cal does not game plan, player prep, or have his players study film. He doesn’t believe it matters. Had Duke been UK’s coach during the Duke game we would have lost by 20 easily. The problem with Calipari is he just cannot adjust. But they will win a few big games. Then turn around and lose games that make no sense. He will flame out in the tournament if they make it. Calipari is washed, his liberal approach to the game isn’t good enough when he’s not pulling the top players anymore which he doesn’t. You have to have AD, Zion, Cooper Flagg types to offset his lazy approach. And his teams never shoot well, almost never. Last year at Kentucky Cal had Welch, an offense guru. He left cal immediately. Then cal went right back to Brock layers and hired his son. Arkansas is definitely in trouble. Calipari is totally washed. It will take a lot of luck for Cal to get Arkansas to a final four before he’s done. This is NOT 2012 CALIPARI. This isn’t 1997 Calipari.

I don’t think Cal will stay at Arkansas long. His ego craves attention and he can’t recruit quite to the level at Arkansas that he could at UK. Also the fanbase is not as big and the attention just isn’t there. I think he goes 3 years then tries to hand it to Brad. He probably won’t be able to pull that off, but maybe if he says he’ll stay on and do the recruiting for a while. It’s possible they allow it. That’s what all this is about is coaching with Brad. And wow if that happens. Brad is a weirdo dude who has no business on those sidelines.

Still horrible on defense and has 0 identity on offense. Boogie is pretty good and thero adu thearo.....or whatever his name are solid, but outside of that this team does absolutely nothing well. Agree, but in both those games, dismal free throw shooting was what ultimately sunk them. 63% against Kansas and 54% against Connecticut. In the UCONN game they were 13-24 and lost by six. They choked at the line.
