It is disturbing how many people will confidently declare: ''I don't believe in God, but I am spiritual'' without having the slightest idea what they mean by that. It is more disturbing to find that such people, while profiting from the civilisation made by Christianity, will vehemently deny the power of Christ.

"[S]uch people, while profiting from the civilisation made by Christianity, will vehemently deny the power of Christ." This is true of the "Spiritual but not religious" crowd, but it's also true of atheists. Recently the famous atheist Richard Dawkins called himself a "cultural Christian". He said: "I call myself a cultural Christian. I’m not a believer, but there’s a distinction between being a believing Christian and being a cultural Christian. … I love hymns and Christmas carols, and I sort of feel at home in the Christian ethos. … We [in the U.K.] are a “Christian country” in that sense."
@lorrainewhitehead90804 ай бұрын
That was me before, I use to love to sing Christmas carols and thought of my as a sort of Christian or cultural christian to use Dawkins analogy. But in truth, as I have since learnt, I was not a Christian at all. I became a born again Christian in lockdown, not even in a church, just me telling God I needed Him. I urge anyone remotely interested in letting Jesus in to their life to pray to Him because He heard me and I know He’ll hear you too.

God is never absent as some may think. He always initiates. The problem is indifference. With regard to the things of God in Christianity and even Catholicism is the 'I don't care' attitude that young people see in adults who profess faith in Jesus. If we overcome indifference and respond to the movements in our heart, we become more attuned and gradually overcome indifference. I know because I've seen this in my life. You don't need to take my word for it. Commit your way to Him and He will more than respond. I heard a wise and older friend tell me many years back that you can't outgive the Lord and I believe its true. The challenge is my meager efforts at testing that but to the extent I do, He responds in spades.

Which god? Which will? The Catholic/Christian god seems to be cool with being represented by the world’s biggest paedophile ring (that’s a fact, not a speculation). Surely an omnipotent, omnipresent being would stop grown men molesting kids? Which is pretty worrying for the western world. Then there’s thousands of other gods. So which gods will should people walk in the middle of?
@TheMagpie4Real4 ай бұрын
There is a disturbing amount of people here in Scandinavia that has started to worship the old norse "gods". Most of them without ANY real and deeper understanding of the old mythology. On the surface it looks and feels ridiculous. No better word for it. But in truth, they are kids playing with powers they do not understand. At least the old norse people knew to fear and even despise these demons. They subtly ridiculed and mocked them in most of their stories about them. But now people seem to think of them as positive forces of nature on par with primitive nature religions or simply symbolic avatars for "the spiritual forces" unseen. They are neither of course. They are demons. No more. No less. But worshipped and given power, even from a naïve and uninformed person, they are dangerous nonetheless. And these demons that once infested this part of the world has now gained entry once again with the help of humans, most of whom think it's a fun and interesting "hobby". But the worst part is, that the church pay absolutely no attention to this or completely fail to take this spiritual war serious.
@otl_podcast_4 ай бұрын
It seems to be quite prominent in the Northern European countries. Even in the US there is an infatuation with the Norse gods via an obsession with the Vikings. I suspect the popular Viking series has played a big role in this. In John Davidsons book, Pagan America, he outlines the human sacrifices, archeological evidence, etc. that show that while the Vikings had periods of calm and civility they often were as brutal as most pagan nations- particularly regarding human sacrifices.

Jung seems to be the most conflicted visionary of the modern era. He had to have believed in the figures he met and spoke to in his own subconscious, and those of his patients, and understood that the anima and animus were autonomous (divinely sourced, supernatural). He even understood that Freud was somewhat trapped in his own projections. As a scientist, however, Jung knew that he could never express such a notion professionally, and he was embarrassed by his earlier forays into spiritism. So we may never know if or what he personally believed. He seems never to have made the leap to a true faith, and thereby, a true perception of the universe. We also know that he and other psychologists were being sought and groomed by the CIA and Darpa as part of their mind control experiments on youth in the 50s and 60s. So, like Fauci in our own days, we can see how well-meaning public servants can be brought into the service of globalist demonic programs and agendas, somewhat against their free-will judgment.

As soon as Zion was in labor, she also delivered her sons. 9 “Shall I bring to the point of birth but not give delivery?” says the LORD. “Or shall I who gives delivery shut the womb?” says your God 10 “Be joyful with Jerusalem and rejoice for her, all you who love her; Be exceedingly glad with her, all you who mourn over her, 11 So that you may nurse and be satisfied with her comforting breasts, So that you may drink fully and be delighted with her bountiful breasts.” 12 For this is what the LORD says: “Behold, I extend peace to her like a river, And the glory of the nations like an overflowing stream (Isaiah 60:1-5); And you will be nursed, you will be carried on the hip and rocked back and forth on the knees. 13 “As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you; And you will be comforted in Jerusalem.” 14 Then you will see this, and your heart will be glad, And your bones will flourish like the new grass; And the hand of the LORD will be made known to His servants (Isaiah 25:9-10, Isaiah 24:23, 2 Thessalonians 1:10), But He will be indignant toward His enemies. 15 For behold, the LORD will come in fire, And His chariots like the whirlwind, To render His anger with fury, And His rebuke with flames of fire. 16 For the LORD will execute judgment by fire And by His sword on humanity, And those put to death by the LORD will be many (2 Thessalonians 7-9).” If you read this it shows that after Israel is brought back into the land the Lord will appear to judge the nations. We haven’t seen this at all. But, this is notable to the second coming of Christ, which brings about the resurrection.

@@imago2758 I believe you are mistaken. Gathering his people for the last finale has nothing to do with Jesus's resurrection. A nation is not part of Jesus's rise from the dead. The signs will become even more evident as the days progress, where even the non believers will be distressed by their overwhelming truth.

19 For the kingdom of the devil must shake, and they which belong to it must needs be stirred up unto repentance, or the devil will grasp them with his everlasting chains, and they be stirred up to anger, and perish; 20 For behold, at that day shall he rage in the hearts of the children of men, and stir them up to anger against that which is good. 21 And others will he pacify, and lull them away into carnal security, that they will say: All is well in Zion; yea, Zion prospereth, all is well-and thus the devil cheateth their souls, and leadeth them away carefully down to hell. 22 And behold, others he flattereth away, and telleth them there is no hell; and he saith unto them: I am no devil, for there is none-and thus he whispereth in their ears, until he grasps them with his awful chains, from whence there is no deliverance. 23 Yea, they are grasped with death, and hell; and death, and hell, and the devil, and all that have been seized therewith must stand before the throne of God, and be judged according to their works, from whence they must go into the place prepared for them, even a lake of fire and brimstone, which is endless torment. 24 Therefore, wo be unto him that is at ease in Zion! 25 Wo be unto him that crieth: All is well! 26 Yea, wo be unto him that hearkeneth unto the precepts of men, and denieth the power of God, and the gift of the Holy Ghost! 27 Yea, wo be unto him that saith: We have received, and we need no more! 28 And in fine, wo unto all those who tremble, and are angry because of the truth of God! For behold, he that is built upon the rock receiveth it with gladness; and he that is built upon a sandy foundation trembleth lest he shall fall. 29 Wo be unto him that shall say: We have received the word of God, and we need no more of the word of God, for we have enough! 30 For behold, thus saith the Lord God: I will give unto the children of men line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little; and blessed are those who hearken unto my precepts, and lend an ear unto my counsel, for they shall learn wisdom; for unto him that receiveth I will give more; and from them that shall say, We have enough, from them shall be taken away even that which they have. 31 Cursed is he that putteth his trust in man, or maketh flesh his arm, or shall hearken unto the precepts of men, save their precepts shall be given by the power of the Holy Ghost. 32 Wo be unto the Gentiles, saith the Lord God of Hosts! For notwithstanding I shall lengthen out mine arm unto them from day to day, they will deny me; nevertheless, I will be merciful unto them, saith the Lord God, if they will repent and come unto me; for mine arm is lengthened out all the day long, saith the Lord God of Hosts. 559BC, 2 Nephi 28 Book of Mormon

I’ve met this materialist magician to a t, i’m so glad God saved me. I used to do all these things. I still think I could read tarot and worship God through it as I think God would be the one speaking to me through the cards as now all the images stirs up christian and biblical truths and conversations from within me. I wonder If I am allowed to use tarot specifically on tiktok away from other christian’s not to hurt their faith as most christian’s think the cards themselves are defiled, yet I would say it is the lack of faith and obedience to God by the user that opens up the door to the dark spiritual forces of evil. I think I could share the Gospel with these lost souls, yet I haven’t because I burned all my cards when I came to Jesus as at the time I did not know if I could ever touch them again and looking at them hurt. Please pray for me if this is something I should do. I would hate to hide the faith God gave me. Yet it’s still similar to divination even though the one I would be seeking would be God.

I think Clive Staples Lewis is the Elon Musk of Literature, not Christian Literature, I mean Literature as a whole. Sure, learned academics will roll their eyes, but I challenge them to read a 8 volumes in the series, one of which is "The Screwtape Letters". C.S. Lewis was a Believer, then atheist, and finally a Believer. How many great writers survived the horrors of trench warfare in World War 1? That war didn't make him a great writer, but it most certainly flavored his Faith. The series is not for the feint of will. His vocabulary and writing style will wear the average person out. But, if one reads, then reads again when necessary, his his words and how he uses well-thought-out reason to prove our great Creator's existence, one will be forever impacted.

They have not researched much of where Christianity came from or the Old testament. Certainly not the gnostic gospels. Relishing end times is nothing, but a death cult. Labeling all tribal gods, and we all had them, demons based on your belief in one didn't even happen in antiquity. Much smarter humanity was in those days. If you feel European, Greek, Egyptian, African, etc. gods are evil well...don't worship them. Morality does exist in ancient mythology however. Many similarities in the lessons taught through different pantheons and the Bible. Almost if they reflected the same things encountered throughout humanity. Pagan or Christian doesn't determine morality. Lack of morality and not following natural law, which are of God, gives us the world we have today. Should we fix that the end times would fade away. Praying for the end times is just stupid. Life is beautiful as I'm certain God, by whatever name called, would agree.

Although I m q sure of the existence of a metaphisical world - not only the material one, my only educational interest in esotherica of ancient times (gnostics etc) actualy helped me to accept that metaphisical world exists though I dont like to be engrossed in it at all as my "reasonable" and "sceptical" part of mind tells me that humans are q. undeveloped beings and so we as "pre-school kids" should not be playing with "older boys" :D And I m unsure about chances of having some help from above even though I feel I need guidance but as agnostic I dont want to develop my fanaticism, or even if I earned this help. And at the same time the ideals of seek of objective truth, of divine love, of purity, of honor, of justice, of forgiveness, of sacrifice, of striving to divide between whats wholesome and whats wrong - this is so ingrained in my intelectual heritage, this type of topics are constantly on my mind (esp forgiveness to those who treat me unjustly and justice, and sacrifice to greater good) that I feel as if I would be close to the edge of accepting teological dogmas but at the same time as I know much about my failures and defects I m not sure what can be a task I should be doing in the service of God even though I would gladly be "useful servant" I feel too foolish and too small to be such person. :(

The Lewis guy by self admission, said he sensed the (a) change occurring within his being of what he termed a Christian conversion shortly after or around the time of his wife's death, he said he was of a different mindset previously until he experienced the obviously painful loss of his wife. I read a few of his writings out of interest in hearing of knowing of his story and telling of his conversion so to speak, I firmly believe conversion (if real, can only be of the creator of all) and is not a religious experience, not even in the slightest. I'm fully sure that religion is religion in whatever form it presents as and is not of the creator for obvious reasons only to some. I know anyone who is under any banner of any religious belonging-to regardless of whatever it prefers to identify as is misguided and thus unable to be of truth.
