I thought we could learn something. He knew less than I did.

about the same as my 400, the 400 seems to sit a bit higher so the jack was not needed and the 400 deck has only 3 wheels its a HEAVY sun gun!

question on the driveshaft connection sleeve fitting. is the end cap supposed to be spring tensioned? the one on mine moves back and forth but is sloppy.
@mmrbeef4 жыл бұрын
There should be some tension on that cap. Depending on the version you have you might be able to source a replacement spring. I did a video awhile back on cleaning driveshafts that should cover some of that material.
@mackendw4 жыл бұрын
@@mmrbeef I guess what I was asking was if it should be spring loaded tension...ie: when you pull the outer flange backward, when you let it go is it supposed to move by itself back to the fully extended position?

I have a 430 model that does not have a rear PTO and I can not find one to save my soul! I have seen people install a hydraulic tiller and hook up the pulley to run the pump from up front. Can you think of a method to use that design tiller and hook it to the front PTO? Or am I just dreaming? I am so close to giving up and mounting a 2x2 square tube to my walk behind tiller, remove the wheels and handlebars and hook it to my 3 point! Or buy a DR or the like for 3 grand!

I see them sell every once in a while on Ebay for approx. $1200.00 to $1500.00. Check out Weekend Freedom Machines and do a Google search. Do your homework! I found an installation video for the rear PTO here on KZbin onto a JD420GT but should be the same on your 430 kzbin.info/www/bejne/iYHWl4toZs1lnNE It might be cheaper to fab up some mounting brackets and buy a hyd pump and hoses to run a hyd rear tiller. Look for mounting instructions of the hyd pump on a JD420GT 44 Front End Loader to see how it's mounted. The 430 hyd pump mounting IIRC is the same for the 44 Front End Loader. If not already done so yet, get yourself a free membership on Weekend Freedom Machines.com, the amount of info there for free and cool people to help others will blow your mind! They have great prices in their classified sections also for WFM members. Anything you could possibly want to know about mostly JD GT's is there or just ask, there are a couple other similar websites also, do a Google search.
