What I'm seeing here is a farmer thats effectively, and efficiently, addressing the problem of soil compaction. The tractor is being operated with the ultimate high traction/low compaction package, with no visible added ballast, which is the way every tractor that i have used on our farm, since my days as a Dealer Principle, beginning in the 1980's with the advent of MFWD, has been equipped. The largest tire/wheel combination with no added ballast package was a hard sell back then, especially to my father, but once i convinced him, he was the best salesman I had, demoing our tractors and yields to the surrounding farmers. It still perplexes me to this day, when i hear farmers talk about their attempts at reducing soil compaction, with a larger footprint, be it with tires or tracks, while running at or near maximum added ballast weights. Even though I've been making believers of my proven theories for many years out of my customers and neighbors, I'm still perplexed when i see Dealers recommending added ballast on new tractors, unnecessarily costing the customer thousands of dollars initially, and potentially much more in reduced yields, due to soil compaction.

I'm not color blind. Many other great machines out there. JD is very good at copying patents I know for a fact. Steiger, VersatiSteiner,, were front runners in the 4 wheel drive beginnings lead by many farm invented 4 wheel drives by hooking 2 wheel drives in tandem.

Most farms I see where I live in Western CO use small or medium tractors, but there is a 9 series JD here, just like in the video. I like watching it on triples, tilling the field.

I know a 3255 with normal 38 on it with clamp on duels is 15-9 with the other slide all the way out on the axle and a 4555 with bolt on dual 42 the last time I measured it was around 17-2 feet the best I can remember but I’m like you it looks better than 20 foot I guess it depends on how they have the hubs sit up

That is what they want. Vertical tillage tools like this work the surface to help break stalks and mix them with the soil. The farm plants winter wheat after this tillage pass.

The 4WD tractors on triples are always my favorites to watch in the 4WD class. I don't recall seeing a 460 on triples before, but maybe I have. Cool to see here either way.
