JOHN DEERE LA175 MOWER DECK REBUILD!

WE GOT OFF TO A ROCKY START WITH THE PARTS I ORDERED FOR THIS JOHN DEERE LA175. ONCE WE FIGURED OUT THE PROBLEM, IT WORKED JUST FINE. GOTTA SAY THIS SELLER STEPPED UP AND TOOK CARE OF IT. HE WAS VERY QUICK AND DILIGENT.

Hey JC, I have a JD 455 diesel lawn tractor, I bought it almost 20 years ago with a 54 deck which I wore out years ago. Fixed the deck itself a few times as there so crazy hard to find as JD wants crazy money to replace them. I ended up finding an almost new 62" JD deck that JD said wouldn't fit my tractor but I found it does with some modification. I watch FB MP for used spindles as I know all too well the quality of aftermarket parts. It pays to be a packrat.. I love my 1996 HD 455 diesel which can also use many attachments, it's a shaft drive deck as well. I grease everything three times a season and try to keep it covered when it rains. Many spindles cross fit other models of JD I think. Maybe you'll find a better JD so this one you now have can be used for parts! Good video as always folks. Ty ❤😊

Those grease fitting on spindles are common, it's also common to put sealed bearings in them as wel...😮 without going into how stupid that is, the fix is to pull thw bearings and take the inner seal out so the grease will get to the bearing. Yes, it's a pain but I have had ZERO troubles with all the replacement spindles since doing that.

by removing the inner seal on each bearing, it will be exposed to moisture an debris. the spindles are not water tight. i will leave them sealed.

On the oil filter you will come out better buying a WIX 51348. A better filter and probably cheaper than the John Deere and does a better job. That’s what I been using for 5 + years and Valvoline conventional oil 10w30.

I'm with you JC on the greasing of the spindles. They are a sealed bearing, so no grease will get into them. Plus, with the zerk at mid-point, how would grease get to the top bearing?

the inner side seals would have to be removed. the grease would have to be pushed into it with grease pressure. that will likely blow out the seal on the outsides.

I hate ordering parts for mowers. The supply chain is bad lately. I have had to wait 2-3 weeks for parts that were normally on stock
