This video has been very helpful and I have watched it twice it would have been nice to have seen how you did the seals at the end of the barrel and also watched you replace the O-rings and back up rings that’s the part that interest me thank you for the video

Possibly if I get another one to film I can do it .

I assume you are talking about the snap ring and O-rings at 8:50. It seems that that snap ring is next to impossible go get out. I spent over 3 hours trying to get one out and no luck. Resorted to KZbin for any suggestions, but any videos avoid that step by skipping it all together, or by using a conversion kit. Since mine is leaking at the same place the one in the video does, I guess I will go ahead and rebuild it and sip that step. If it doesn't work, I may have to resort to a conversion kit.

Howdy from Cotton Country of West Texas. Thanks for the great Video! In West Texas, John Deere Green has become the color of our lives. Please come visit sometime. We have lots to fix and I am sure you would be able to teach us a lot. And, we would love to show you what we go through keeping John Deere Cotton Strippers alive and running. Thanks again.

Thanks Jackie, Green was the colour of my bread and butter for many years when I was service manager at John Deere here in Bundaberg then for the last 20 years owning my own workshops. We have sugar cane and maccadamia nuts here the cotton is a couple of hours drive west of us.

Thank you very much Mr. Bundy My name is Pere and I'm from Catalonia. I have a John Deere 3440 Argentino and I don't have a repair manual or a spare part. Thanks to your excellent video I was able to do the repair. You are an expert and if you allow me, I ask you two questions: 1) This model has no handbrake, on slope it is very dangerous. Could any mechanism be adapted to it to be able to slow down? 2) Do you know if the PTO has two speeds 500/1000 and if so, do you know where or how it is changed? Thank you again and congratulation

Thanks for the great video. Getting those spiral washers and o-rings seem to be the hardest for me. Is there a trick to installing? Backup washer first then o-ring?
@BundyBearsShed Жыл бұрын
Often o ring then the spiral washer seems to work ok. It is o ring to the oil and the backup washer to support it.

I found this video very helpful. Thank you, do you have one for the pressure and return valves, i am rebuilding one off a 4230 and two valves have two sets of o-rings and back up washer, then the other two valves only have one set of o-ring and back up washer with the other provision empty. not sure if its missing or its suppose to be that way. The instructions that came with the o-ring kit are not readable.

Any tips on putting the seal and spiral washer in the coupling where a hydraulic hose is pushed in? I also cheated and used different E clips for the levers so I could use circlip pliers, I didn’t have the John Deere tool!
@BundyBearsShed4 жыл бұрын
No just wind them in then put the o ring or quad ring in.
