I agree! But as a Swede Im sad that so few of our Scandinavian folk and troubadours musicians are not heard by the international public. "Öppna Landskap" by Ulf Lundell, is one of the greatest songs Ive ever heard and you can hear this second national anthem of Sweden with English translation on this platform!

It's not the most beautiful song you says.you're not the sharpest tool in the tool box.. I can tell you're a negative person you start off with nots. A positive way to say that would be this is a very beautiful song amongst other good ones you obviously lack any enthusiasm romance. John wrote the song for Annie after they had a huge argument it was meant to make up.

I am 70 now and tears come to my eyes when I hear some of John Denver's songs. My parents were still alive and so were my folk singing brother Tim and my sister Christine. Theses songs remind me what true music is about and not just a lot of loud music and words that a lot of time are too negative.

I went with my husband to a few of his concerts and now I listen alone'- as hubby left me one day, devastating me after 33 years of marriage. In the 70’s I was just a young boy and recorded this song over and over again onto a cassette tape from a record and gave it to my mother for her birthday. I didn’t understand why she started crying when she heard it and realized what it was, then later I saw her friends tear up when she told them about it. I thought it was just a nice song for my mom. She’s long since gone now and it’s my turn to get misty eyed listening to it and remembering that birthday decades ago…

I’m a teen girl and what you have is my dream; my biggest fear is never achieving such long lasting love...the divorce rates of modern society, my pursuing a highly stressful career, kids, etc...you don’t know how lucky you are to have such a wonderful marriage even after this much time. My mother died two years ago after suffering for 11 years. She eventually died at hospice after only 5 days. She was my best friend, my teacher, my confident. I didn’t want to go on after she passed and I’m still struggling. She did say to me several times, please don’t be sad when I’m gone because you’ll know it’s what I want. This song by John Denver is something I played so many times during her time in Hospice..it’s beautiful just as she was.

you made me think of my mom who suffered with autoimmune mess for 19 yrs (amputations, anemia, phantom pains, bowel issues, ambulance rides midnight e.r. trips). I took care of her the last 11. My older brother was an amateur musician who played John Denver 8-tracks around the house constantly back in the early-mid-70s. My mother loved John Denver. My brother plays at assisted living places and other such places even now...at 69.

This is the first time I heard John Denver. All I can say is that I’m moved. I want “Annie’s song” to be played on my wedding. He sung songs for all the phases of life. I haven’t heard voice like his and songs like these. I wish he was alive, in today’s time and the younger generation could hear music like this. It’s divine ♥️

One of my late grandmother’s favorite songs. I recall she had it on a small 45 record and played it often on an old 60’s style hi fi system in the living room. Before she passed away in ‘92, I complied this song with others on a disc for her to listen to on a Sony Discman. It gives me comfort that she had John Denver’s beautiful music to listen to during hospice care.
