In the 70’s I was just a young boy and recorded this song over and over again onto a cassette tape from a record and gave it to my mother for her birthday. This is the first time I heard John Denver. All I can say is that I’m moved. I want “Annie’s song” to be played on my wedding. He sung songs for all the phases of life. One of my late grandmother’s favorite songs. I recall she had it on a small 45 record and played it often on an old 60’s style hi fi system in the living room. Before she passed away in ‘92, I complied this song with others on a disc for her to listen to on a Sony Discman. It gives me comfort that she had John Denver’s beautiful music to listen to during hospice care.
