"We are standing all together, face to face and arm in arm; we are standing on the threshold of a dream. No more hunger, no more killing, no more wasting life away. It is simply an idea, and I know it's time has come." Those may be the most beautiful words I've ever heard in a song.

50+ years later and this man with his clear, beautiful voice, and his wonderful lyrics still bring me to tears. It doesn't matter the song he sings, perfection is perfection! We lost this National Treasure much too soon!

John Denver's messages in his songs will be forever relevant to our world and the way we should all try to live our lives. His work will never date itself. His wonderful voice was filled with such passion for the environment, children, love, and the promise of better things, that his songs will live forever. I am a huge John Denver fan and always will be. He still is greatly missed. Thank you, John. Because of your legacy of beautiful music, you'll never be forgotten.

Susan. Thank You for sharing your beautiful thoughts, I agree 200 %.I think school children should be exposed to his music and his values. His music could help young people develop a relationship with nature, which would help them as they grow up.

Many people don't appreciate how great this guy was. I often ponder on some of his lyrics and great voice when having a bad day. Gaze upon the ocean and see the breaching of a whale.

John Denver's gentle nature, and absolutely amazing voice were the perfect way to relay his messages. What a gem we lost, but his legacy lives on. The world leaders of today would do well to acknowledge John's vision for not only mankind, but all the earth, the oceans, deserts, mountains, forests and grasslands, and all that lives there. He should be an inspiration to us all!

MISSING ME SOME JOHN DENVER--ONE OF HIS FINEST SONGS----I WANT TO LIVE---PERFORMED JUST SIX YEARS BEFORE HIS DEATH. Some critics think Denver had passed his peak by 1979, but this performance shows he was still at his best in 1991. Great vocals, no autotune, great message. Tell me, which singer today performs as well? He was a great man, and I was missing him tonight. Listen to it; you'll feel better. Go with God, John.

John Denver's whole life is in this song. Nature's love of animals and plants is an ecological polymath. Versatility was his commitment to technology, all in the spirit of love of Life and affirmation of Life in his short life.😥😍

I saw John Denver in concert more than once - pure joy. Somehow he made the whole arena feel like they were sitting in his living room. He was so delightfully personal. Maybe when he entered the ocean that day, it was a symbol that we all are heading to a better place at some later time. Thank you, John.

Completely agree. My husband and I saw him twice; Nashville then Salt Lake City. Both times you could feel most people were there because they loved him and his music. He was charming and down to earth. The audience would have stayed all night if he had. The world could use more people like him.

I play and sing his music every day. His songs fill me with hope that the human race has bottomed out and we're on the way up...then I look around, see the killings, bombimgs and slaughter in every corner of the world. The world desperately needs a few 'John Denvers' to re kindle hope and aspiration. We simply cannot go on the way we are....and unfortunately these great songs are not stopping the terrorists and murders, these songs simply make us more soulful in our morning.

So weird. When I was a sophomore in high school I heard this concert on the radio. Liked it and grabbed a tape to record it. Later that year I saw it was going to be on PBS. Hey I'll video record it. Forgot. Remembered and threw a tape in VCR at the exact same place I started recording from the radio. Haha I'll never forget that. But the part of the concert I had recordings of, I've always loved.

I like to share my personal story about killing baby in the womb or abortion. Years ago my wife got pregnant, after a while we decided to aborted the baby. After that we felt so guilty of making that decision to do that. How can we as parents love ours children that much and allow doctor and nurses to used the vacuum to suck the baby out from his/her mother's womb? Years later, the guilt continues to speak to us in a still voice, "dady, dady, mommy, mommy, please don't kill me." I called that "the silent cry." We felt quilty until we found the forgiveness through knowing Jesus Christ. My testimony is for those young dad and mom out there to double think before you make decisions to aborted your baby. When listening to John's song, it reminds me about my past and open my heart to help other couples out there to prevent killing their baby in the womb. God is good and mercy and his grace are so efficient to forgive us sinners. God blessed you all!
