im calling bullshit on this post, their account was created on Oct 25, 2006, 8 years ago this was posted, they were 14 at the time, its 2022, take the 8 years off and thats 2014, 14 at the time, which means they were born in 2000, so that means, at the age of 6 they made this account then somehow managed to work out how to put vids together and uploaded on to youtube, at the age of 7, yeah right

Great song for a father/daughter bond. I noticed that your post was written 8 years ago. My dad's 10 year anniversary of his passing is a few weeks away but as you would know it gets easier but you still miss them as much as you did the day they went. Our song was Max Merritt's Slipping away who passed this week 😥. Isn't it wonderful to have classic songs like this for us to reminisce with. Love and sympathies to you ❤️

I fell in love with John when I was flipping channels one evening and landed on HBO.. They were showing a concert of Little River Band, not sure of the date but it was in the early 80's.. I have faithfully and avidly followed John's career and purchased each tape that came out and then each CD.. There is little doubt he has one of the finest voices of any male singer in the world.. Take this to heart, John, from a little old lady who lives in a tiny town in Eastern Idaho, USA.. You HAVE touched many, many more people then you could ever imagine with your beautiful voice..
@Getintoenglish8 жыл бұрын

This was written for John's wife. Because he spent so much time on the road touring etc he was missing Jill so he wrote her a song with the help of some great Aussie songwriters.
@2009captainpaul5 жыл бұрын
Hi Brissy Girl. You are close. I have it in good authority (mainly from Phil Buckles brother who I worked with in TV for a long time) that Phil Buckle wrote this song. The song was written from the point that Phil was away from his wife at the time for long periods performing with Southern Sons and also as guitarist/vocalist for John Farnham. Phil played the guitar on this recording as well as live. He also won an ARIA for this song which easily has to one the worlds most beautiful songs lyrically and instrumentally. Farnham’s incredible vocal rendition and Phil Buckle’s lyrics and beautiful guitar playing are what make this song as great as it is.
@waynemanna14025 жыл бұрын
@@2009captainpaul - added to that, I recall Buckle saying later that after he had been at the Farnham session, he made a decision not to sing his own songs again but to get his songs sung by better singers. The dilemma for him was that Farnham had brought so much more to the song than he had thought possible and way more than he could ever have brought to it. Perhaps not surprising when you are working with one of Australia's best contemporary singers and the songs are of such high quality. Farnham is such a great "interpreter" of a lyric.

Trivia: Classic beautiful looking clip shot by John Ogden. We filmed it in the old Melbourne Regent Theatre before its redevelopment. Even though it was long hours over the 2 days JF was such a pleasure to work with. He kept us all in good spirits joking around, but when it came time for his turn to be on camera "whew" what a powerful performance he gave. This song can still bring an emotional tear to my eyes.

I love all John Farnham songs, he's definitely one of our best ever if not the best. I particularly love his Man Of The Hour with Lindsay Field on back up vocals & Every Time You Cry with Human Nature. He is held in high esteem by International Artists for a reason, I think Richard Marx was one.. He's had the same musicians & back up singers forever meaning he's loved by everyone. Should have been an International success.
