Ive just been watching this again and thought I would add the full rock opera to the wishlist. This is fantastic and features some of our greatest singers and musicians. The Musical Director is David Hirschfelder - you probably recognise his name from when he was with Johns band and Little River Band. He has received many awards including oscar nominations for movie compositions. Lindsay Field, Johns longest serving backing vocalist was also in the cast. Judas was played by another Aussie rock legend, Jon Stevens (lead singer of Noiseworks 1986 to 1992) and INXS 2000 to 2003 replacing the late great Michael Hutchence RIP. He has been a mate of Johns for many years and is the first voice you hear. Mary Magdalene is played by another brilliant Aussie soloist/songwriter Kate Ceberano. The music is just fantastic - let alone the vocalists. I will send a full cast list through with a bit of info on each. Thanks heaps. Love AussieDeb ❤️ kzbin.info/www/bejne/mqezZX19qM93eZYsi=E7ZJYJE7OZgbAcE_

I saw this in Brisbane, it was phenomenal. The whole cast was superb. But John, he lived the part. I've never seen anyone do this better.

Agree wholeheartedly and I wish I had seen it too. He is the G.O.A.T. and THE VOICE. 🤩 and puts more than 💯 percent into all his performances 😍

So did I. Apparently John was a bit crook for the Brissie leg of the tour, but you'd never know. Unforgettable.

I was so sad that I couldn’t see this live. There is some amazing talent in this. Thank you. John did 9 or 10 years of stage shows, musicals and even Pantomimes because his first manager was an idiot. After that no record company would sign him in Australia or America. He had number 1 albums from age 17 but he wasn’t allowed to sing his music his way until he was 38. Find out why he is loved.

Thank you Deb for bringing John to current audiences’ attention. I wasn’t successful in getting tickets…I only managed to see him live once in Toowoomba many many moons ago!😊 I have no words to describe what it was like to be in the same space as Farnham’s voice and I will never forget it. ❤

@hildommar I have only seen him live once as well. Oh! how I wish I had seen him more live but thankfully I am thoroughly enjoying getting to know him all over again and at least I can watch him whenever I want or need to 😍 which is at least once a day!! Also, getting to know his band and how he relates to them and to his audiences has been amazing 👏 And his ever generous heart and concerts for charities. There are so many songs that I've never heard especially from his very early and Little River Band days 🥰

@@AussieDebb Same here, it fills me with such joy that newer and younger audiences are being able to discover his voice, his interpretation of songs, his story-telling ability and his charisma and interactions with the band, his loyal backing singers and loyal audiences. And like you I am watching him all over again especially now that he is on the mend after that scary surgery.🤗Thanks again for all you do. The only other act i’m loyally following now besides keeping an eye on John, is Forestella … an independent crossover group consisting of a Rocksinger/self-trained tenor soprano who is a trained research chemist , a musical theatre actor,with a rock, pop and r&b voice , a basso profundo opera singer and a leggiero tenor who is also a fully trained and experienced opera singer, because for me it’s first about the vocals, the charisma, the stage presence, their humility, the chemistry between the 4 members on and offstage and their absolute dedication to producing great music in various genres and languages. They are amazingly eclectic in their music tastes as individuals and as a group as well, never wanting to be confined to one particular genre….sounds familiar doesn’t it?!😅Like John, they also have original songs with unique music videos and have excelled at making cover songs their own. They are mesmerising to watch perform and listen to no matter the venue. There are other crossover groups but none who can match their calibre. Hubby and I just watched Farnham ‘s 2006 Sydney Opera house almost 2hr show!😅And now i’m off to fill up on my daily Forestella Fix💖👀🎵🎶🎤

@@hildommar Your Opera group sounds like a remake of il Divo. . .. Recommend any live performance of il Divo doing If Living is Without You ( sometimes called Without You or (i) Cant Live ). Recording is also first class......and some live videos are better than others, as are the arrangements.

John displays the five stages of grief - denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance
@AussieDebb3 ай бұрын
@@sibertiger1970 Thank you for commenting on this. I have lost a child violently in 2002 and this is so, so true. ❤️❤️ Although that first couple of weeks are just a blur of shock and excruciating emotional and heart pain. John himself displayed this in the crucifixion scene as well. Love our John - his music has helped me so much. Until I started really getting into reactors to John and particularly doing the history series and delving so much into John's career, I realized I didn't appreciate his musical genius enough and I am just in awe of this man's talent and that VOICE 😍💞💖

Really Great Review. If u passed John in the street and said hello, he’d probably stop and have a chat. His manager Glenn Wheatley was always dragging John away re work. Great interview but one of the serious ones, I assumed it was going to be one of his funny interviews, and there’s enough of those around lol. I saw John and cast live in Melbourne in Superstar - brilliant.

One of the differences with this production is was not on a traditional stage, but in the round, hence that moving circle he is seen on.

Yes it's often referred to as 'Christ's Agony In The Garden' remembering that his feelings were that of a 'man' I think John was superb with his portrayal of Jesus in as much as the emotional performance he gave. Brilliant. Great reaction as per usual guys.

I agree that JC Superstar is not known for showing the God's Son side of Jesus- pretty much the human side, and maybe they took liberties with that. But John's performance was absolutely amazing- yes!
