Hey VK this is such a beautiful song, I dare say it’s become one of my favourites of John’s lately. I actually applied parallel compression on the synth track and I think I placed them at the back. Parallel compression allows you to basically double a track and apply different EQ/compression settings to each one and then combine the two. The net effect is you get to enhance different qualities in the instrument. I also use this with the vocal track. Anyway you’ve dished out the quote of the year in my books:- “sometimes you just need to listen to a few radio songs and look at some f’n trees” 👏🏻 👏🏻

An absolutely beautiful song, with such deep and descriptive lyrics. The way in which John delivers a message is always so thought provoking, it takes you on a journey. That journey was to find your purpose and meaning in life. Afterall, if you find what you love doing and it's worthwhile, then I believe this is one of the keys to a happy and fulfilling life. John's vocals were outstanding as usual, so powerful and full of raw emotion. Every word cuts to the depths of your soul. Then you have John's backing vocalists namely Vanetta, Lisa and Lindsay, all totally amazing. The way they all harmonise and know when John breathes, it blows my mind. This can only come from years of performing together. In fact all the musicians are so talented, but in this video Joe on bass guitar really stood out. His playing was so on point. Just another favourite of mine, but who am I kidding their all my absolute favourites.🥰 Thank you very much Vakasa for my song reaction. I really enjoyed your discussion on this one. ❤🎼😊
