Dave gave him a les paul when he was in rehab and had no money . John rang him and asked for a guitar . John actually sold that guitar for drugs . 10 years later john rocked up at Dave's door with a black led paul . Wrong color lol .

Dont forget that Dave Navarro was the one who played guitar on RHCP's One Hot Minute and toured with them back then. He played some amazing stuff on that record. It's one of my favorite RHCP albums.
