I'd have to disagree with one point, I don't think the surplus of pedos in the animation industry is because they themselves are 'childish' and thus have an affinity to children. Rather that, much like teachers, a predator will chose to take up positions that give them power and easy access to their victims. It's always soul destroying to find out something you love was made by someone so evil, and I hope his' victims are doing better now that they're away from this creep.
@patbuttramssuperfan5 жыл бұрын
Rabbit Guts I strongly agree with you!
@scabbarae4 жыл бұрын
I guess it's possible that someone would become an animator in order to gain the access and power to assault children, but what makes me doubt that as a common occurrence is that so many animators got their start when they were children themselves. Chuck Jones, for instance, was drawing cartoons in elementary school. It's a treacherous, practically-unpaid, lifelong pursuit that requires true passion for one's work. If you're an accountant, for instance, you can't just say "I wanna diddle kids, so I'm going to apply for this animator job".
@backwardsbandit80944 жыл бұрын
@@patbuttramssuperfan exactly. I find it very odd that she claimed that there isn't much pedophilia in Hollywood when its absolutely rampant with almost every child star that was ever on a set. The thing is pedophiles are everywhere and in all jobs but we often hear about animators, teachers, movie producers/directors because they have more opportunities and get caught more often as a result. @SaintSquared I'd say wait until the court case to lump Vic into the group. And this is coming from someone that believes Rial's and her groups claims are false. This whole thing pretty much started off from a jellybean like 11 years ago. I'm not kidding. From the story, Monica wrote her name on a jellybean before giving to Vic, and before he ate it, he stated "he can be the first to say he ate Monica." Then ever since, Monica had been trying to get him fired, and the sexual harassment/pedophile accusations were her last resort. And, honestly there are some red flags pointing to how the claims were possibly baseless. 1. Why wait until the Broly movie came out back in January to say the claims to get him fired from RoosterTeeth and Funimation? If it's going on for almost 2 decades, why wait till January to say something? 2. When Vic stated he was filing a lawsuit, the reactions were odd. For instance, when news first dropped, Rial her fiance, and Jamie Marchi were trying to get it settled out of court before it even started. Wouldn't be the other way around, since normally if you're trying to settle something out of court, you have something that doesn't want to be seen by the public. 3. the whole "anything you say can and will be used against in a court of law" thing. Even after Vic threatened Rial and her defenders with a lawsuit, she, her fiance Ron Toye, Marchi and almost all Funimation VA's have done nothing but tweet about Vic, threatening to get him barred from conventions and blacklisted, threatening fans, harassing convention owners, and mocking his attorney. Marchi even took further saying "she wants his head. she wants his balls" basically wanting to ruin his life. Just from Toye's tweets alone Ty Beard has over roughly 450 to 500 pages worth of his tweets alone

Ren and Stimpy never appealed to me, and now I think I know why now that John KKK turned out to be a pedagogue, and the other P-word that sounds like it. His cartoons never appealed to me because he has a disgusting sense of humor not just in his cartoons, but in real life as well! It was bad enough that he was so stuck up, he criticized any style of animation that was not his own just because they were allegedly less creative than the type of animation HE would make. So I am very grateful that John was never, ever one of my "heroes" because even if he was not a rapist, he is absolutely not the type of cartoonist from whom I would want to learn animation, because he is too condescending towards everyone else, instead of just embracing the fact that various artists around the globe just have different types of animation and art styles, and most of them are not as wacky as him. I do not care what he said about "CalArts" because listening to his insulting animation advice is not worth my time! December 15, 2022, 6:30am

I just graduated from university as an animator, and I have something of a theory to it (hear me out here) A lot of psychiatrists and even things like Dr Kawashima's brain training, all say that a really good thing to do to keep all parts of your brain exercised is to avoid doing tedious repetitive tasks. Animation is a career of drawing the same thing over and over again for months or years on end. It's really easy to not look after your brain, and that's evidenced in the amount of depression and anxiety among animators. Obviously I'm not saying that people with mental illnesses are likely to be predators, but perhaps they come from a similar root issue of not looking after your brain. I don't have any evidence or proof for this, it's just a shower thought I had one time, but ever since then, I've been on Brain Training and Duolingo daily.

@@toast2980 i wouldn’t say its a disorder but more about power or the thought of corrupting something. Like how Abuser go after “weak” women to manipulate or how zoophiles go after animals since they dont fight back much like Abused Women and Animals children are the embodiment of innocence. These Predators are either victims of SA themselves and by doing it to other kids they gain back the power they lost when it happened to them or are predators that were cowards their whole life and SA kids to feel powerful or “like a man”. Some guys go after virgins because they like the feeling of destroying innocence or the power they have to take it. They know what their doing and know that its wrong it isnt an addiction, mental illness, disorder, or “the devil” its something that weak people do to gain power. I will put a scenario-ish Did you know (some not all) mothers who have abusive partners will take it off on their children. They will beat their own kids up in a fit of rage. Why? Because of power. She is powerless against their partner (be it money wise, physically, authority) so they unleash that anger on a WEAK person who cant fight back (who is a child) to feel some sort of power back. With that scenario-ish in mind think of a predator thats why i couldn’t call it a disorder i call it a crime.

Even so, his association with the show blemishes it completely. And the people who worked for him have to come to terms that they worked with a monster. They might even leave this show off their resumes for fear of the taint rubbing off on whoever hires them in the future. A truly classic work can now be considered stained because so-and-so was there. Some people can enjoy it in spite of the details, but for me, I will always see something as "Oh yeah, that person is great in it, but they are a creep in real life." That is why the #metoo movement affects not just the abuser & the abused. Even those who did not know such behavior was going on have to reckon with the fact the person they worked with was not the person they knew. They will have to answer questions about a certain project they worked on with a disgraced person & be told, "Come on. Be honest. Did you see anything happen?"

@the-NightStar5 жыл бұрын
NO, let's not go that far. Don't be stupid. Let's not start confusing John K being a horrible person with being untalented. Bob Camp was not the savior of R&S and his cartoons were definitely inferior to John K's, as was the entire Games productions. Come on, let's not start giving into hyperbole or being stupid about this and start using the fact that John is a creepy, abusive, assholish, slimeball and a douchebag to start insulting or devaluing his amazing work. John K IS Ren and Stimpy, whether you like it or not. You CANNOT just re-write the entire narrative of the show's production and idiotically just throw it all onto another person like this just because you like them better as a human being. You have to accept that Ren and Stimpy was a great show, John K was a great director and creator behind it, and John K was also a terrible, horrible human being and abuser that happened to be the visionary of a show that lasts the test of time. Terrible people can still produce great things and leave behind a legacy better than that of the person he is. That's the harsh truth of the situation, and you can't just rewrite history and facts to a sanitized, but inaccurate and delusional narrative that suits your sensibilities better.

Long story: My dad used to watch Ren and Stimpy when I was a kid, at age five to be exact. When I first saw an episode, it had gross humor in it that would appeal to me at the time and I just straight up laughed at the episode cause you know...a five year old will find anything funny and dad laughed hard, most of my early childhood I would really watch Ren and Stimpy just for gross exaggerated humor that I had no concept of understanding anything other than laugh at dumb things; my mom always hated the show and I wouldn't care, its like I was either brainwashed or was just being a kid, eventually I grew up and forgot about Ren and Stimpy during late elementary school and all of middle school. Flash forward till I was Sixteen, in my junior year of high school and it was fall of 2007; I was bored one night just changing the TV, my brother was playing a computer game and Ren and Stimpy was on, I wanted him to watch the show I used to see back in the day to show him how "funny" the show is, so it started and we watched it....for only three minutes! At sixteen, for some reason, I did not find Ren and Stimpy to be hilarious at all except really weird, disturbing and somewhat Fubar, I was shocked pretty bad and my brother was more shocked than me...in fact I think I was terrified of the show to the point that I had to leave the room. At that age of sixteen, I saw now on why my mom hated Ren and Stimpy and I don't blame her. Years later and recently I was talking to my brother about this show and without hesitation cause I wanted to his opinion, she said the show was flat out weird and I was telling him about the animator and his allegations of severe sexual Abuse, his response was "Really?!" as if he's not surprised in all this.

Are martial artists violent people? Are police people who want to put the law into their own hands? No, for the most part they are not. It just happens that this guy, an animator, was a pedophile.
