didnt know John Legend was so engaged in political issues. that's awesome! he made a great point about whether celebrities should give opinions/support issues. theyre people too, unfair to expect them to be anymore educated on an issue than anyone else. great video!

Re education reform: Research effects of having to store $ in the "General Fund" of each State (analolous to Soc Sec Federal level). This shared virtual bank account enables diversion of funds (replaced with I.O.U.s), which incentivizes chronic neediness so voters will keep passing bond measures. Also, public schools need to share rhe same funding (not be dependent on property taxes from the area their students come from).

Jesse Jackson’s appearance on snl just after the convention was one of the most eye opening moments of my life. My big moment was rooting for the underdog in a presidential election. McGovern lost. I got laughed at by everyone else in my grade. Nixon got impeached and forced to resign. One kid told me I was right. Nobody had an opinion before I asked who they wanted to win. Lots came back with reasons for supporting Nixon afterwards, informed by their parents. People don’t follow leaders they follow the moving butt in front of them. Biden isn’t moving fast enough to draw attention right now. Hope he picks up the pace.

I think leaning into having celebrities like Legend campaigning is not a good idea. I think we need really, really average people doing the campaigning in the swing states. I also think that engaging people from those communities to be surrogates is even more effective, given the conversations on this channel about how important person-to-person canvassing is. So targeting those people not only as voters, but as volunteers for the campaign is better, because then ideally they can spread the message in an even more organic way.

I dont necessarily think that voters have amnesia. They just don't want trump or biden but Trumps voters are more excited to vote for him and those for Biden don't want to admit reality right now. Hopefully they realise the gravity of the situation in November and don't kiss this country, our ideals and values and our democracy goodbye.
