Host Eric Metaxas and Oxford professor John Lennox explore the question, "Has science buried God?" -- discussing the fine-tuned universe, evolution, logic, history, and more! "It's like we're an old Vaudeville team" says Metaxas, who eggs the legendary Lennox into retelling his equally legendary roast chicken anecdote. The interview was hosted by the Colson Center and took place in Washington D.C., in May 2019.

Lennox and humility...That is always rich coming from somebody who thinks he “knows” God, THE God, humility by those who think that the universe was created with him in mind, that they knows the one creator of the universe, and know what this divine being wants. Jeah, that has all the hallmarks of humility right there.

@@derhafi Indeed coming from someone who believes their own morals can be used to capitally punish a human being even though moral statements are exactly the same in intrinsic value. Atheism is definitely the epitome of humility guys.

@@TheSpacePlaceYT Aside from the fact that Atheism makes no claims about anything regarding moral, that you in fact use your own choosen morals "to punish a human being" (it just happens that you jumped on some theologien bandwagon with this one.. i have to assume) and set aside that I never said anything about "capital punishment" at all, all those things aside....you really see no flaw in Lennox "arguments"?

I love how Lennox, clearly a very brilliant man, comes across as intellectually humble and honest. His ever present clarity of thought and ability to communicate deep philosophical arguments in a cogent manner make him perhaps the finest modern proponent of rational Christianity. Doubtless, recalcitrant atheists will instantaneously and dogmatically close themselves to his solid arguments, but some open-minded agnostics who really take the time and effort to mentally digest his writings may well find themselves pulled a bit closer to the possibility of a deity. In any case, he is an absolute joy to read, watch, and listen to.

Jesus Christ WAS Lord. The Messiah died sometime in the 40 years after his crucifixion on the 1st Day of Passover Friday April 7, 30 AD and was entombed in the JesusFamilyTomb.com (and on KZbin). The literal physical Ascension into the heavens is a myth. God-incarnate has been famously reincarnated many times in the last 1,950 years. Have you read 7seals.blogspot.com ? Only the returned Christ & Albert Einstein reincarnated could produce that. It's triggered The Apocalypse/Revel-ation which is NOT the 'end of the world'. COVID-19 is part of Seal #4: S=19 (18.6) Theory. Donald Trump = 666 using the 'Evil=48 Code' of A=49, B50...Z74. He's the current Antichrist. D52+O63+N62+A49+L60+D52 + T68+R66+U69+M61+P64 = 666

Is this real? This guy Eric, representing christianity, immediately speaks of hate which is an element of the purges of the christian church. Hate ignores the true teachings of scripture. These two are feeding their own egos whilst being encouraged and applauded by presumably people of faith. These believers who profess to know the mind of their god fail to display humility with a demeanour that may give me an understanding and desire to know their lord, their Jesus? Atheists and believers base their debate on information of history’s accounts provided by fallible humans. Their contribution has some worth. We can listen, learn, contemplate but never venerate these speakers or give them credence of special insights. They are human, as fallible as those disciples and founders of the early church, as well as its current managers. This is yet another debate about the unprovable truth with the presenters who promote themselves and, of course , their status and income.

@@jamesperkins4068 An interesting perspective...however I must simply disagree with the notion that the speakers especially lennox are in any way anti-humble how you got that thought leads me to believe you simply did not watch the whole presentation, as for The host he is quite obviously telling jokes to make the presentation more interesting. As for the idea that these concepts are simply unknowable I again disagree under the premise that the whole of christianity is built under the research of Gods revealing to us which is done via history which has always been an important method of learning fact. Your accusation that these men are attempting to line their pockets I simply find to be Ad hominem and also unlikely to be true yet I acknowledge that you are free to your opinion. Anyway I hope you keep up the search for truth without the idea that the truth is unknowable (As we all would be wasting our time and would have realized sooner). All that to say Jesus loves you too!

@@busterlord6595 Is it Buster?. Some info for you. I was raised in Catholicism, a true follower of Christ. I found it dogmatic and myopic at 16 then at 30 I went to several Christian denominations to compare their worship and teachings, was born again in a brethren church subsequently spent a year at a charismatic UK Anglican. I had repeated doubts about the authenticity of the bible as it was produced by humans who have. since recorded history, generally shown to be not living in the image of their god, fight each other and use religion, their Gods authority, to act on behalf of their nations. I have not found a reference to Jesus needing a jocular character to make his presentation more interesting. During the interview Eric did interject with remarks that detracted from the speaker’s need to impart his knowledge. I would respect him if he directed my focus on the ensuing interview. I know from my own experiences and development that little rational discussion will emerge when belief and bible quotes become the source of ‘proof’. I used to be like that until I listened to discussions of all faiths and atheists. None of them have proof and that no longer bothers me. They are content. Contentment can release hormones of well-being so they feel no need to change what causes them to function satisfactorily. That is until they question and seek further understanding of the human condition I merely suggest to readers that it is worthy to not be too praising of those who promote themselves, who satisfy their own sense of well-being instead of being providers of information upon which we can dwell and can estimate its worth. In all faiths, notably several US evangelists, there are those, mere humans who speak as if they have a special knowledge of their God’s desires, who are followed and financed by those who need a strong voice, by those who are unable to personally find the strong voice of their Lord. You are a well-intentioned person and do not doubt your reasons for your beliefs. That seems to function well for you. Good. You are happily rejoicing with me the benefits of this wonderful planet. I know myself and I know my true identity. I make statements but it is of no consequence to me how they are received. That is the choice of the recipient. May your God be with you. Jim

@@TheEMC99 Their opinions surely..... The rules of science are simple. I forwarded them. I never really told anyone to drop their faith and become atheist. I just do not endorse any special pleading or interference of religious people into science. He is right, science does not say that gods do not exist. That is no proof for gods though, not for unicorns, jesus or other zombies. Creationists had years to prove their case, and they dropped the ball each time they are asked to bring evidence. I forwarded the evidence for evolution, I explained how science rules work, and who is obligated to prove what. And I pointed out that certain fallacies do not apply.....and that repeated strawmanning indicates a lack of integrity. That stating evolution is supposedly wrong while never having put in any effort to study the subject is tantamount to being a liar, so far one of the more serious sins in Christianity.

The Oligarchs must have figure out this (fascinating) point from Dr. Lennox a long time ago, and instead of outright shutting down the philosophy courses, they have just coerced them into teaching the tenets of Communism or Corporatism necessary to generate obedient, willing slaves. Jesus preached the Kingdom of God in parables. But here on earth God’s work must truly be our own. God has to manifest himself through the same cosmic laws that everything--and everyone--on earth has to follow. For us to ally ourselves with Jesus in helping bring the Kingdom of God on earth, we must remember this: Without God, we cannot. Without us, God will not.

General relativity's black holes, white holes, Big Bang and wormholes. ‘The BIG Bang-Bit Bang’ inflation/expansion of energy₇₄ and information into the void 13.8 billion years ago was a supermassive white hole spawned by a supermassive black hole at the heart of a galaxy in our ‘parent₇₄ universe’. This duality combines general relativity’s singularities of infinite density breaking through spacetime in ‘Cosmic Egg hatchings’ of all created universes within ‘The Conglomerate’: multiverse with no random quantum fluctuation bubble universes, no parallel universes or parallel worlds, and no universes with different physical laws. Our Universe is 1-in-2 trillion ‘self-similar offspring’ each with the same inherited ‘DNA’. “In the beginning”, the Planck density of the core of a SBH is a birth canal. ‘Quantum bounce SBH-SWH seed transitions’ are ‘quantum tunneling umbilical wormholes’ with energy-matter and data transformed/ transferred, albeit scrambled and encoded. The ubiquitous cause-and-effect ‘circle of life cycle’: birth-life-death-transformation-rebirth explains infinite space and eternity - a necessity. Reproduction is GOD/Nature’s plan for greatly spreading life from cells to universes. GOD=7_4 or FOD=6_4 is the #1 program₇₄/law/initial₇₄ condition (GOD704.fandom.com ). John, just after mentioning that all schools are faith schools asks if he should tell the audience a little story about that, and I found myself at home, putting my hand up, saying, yes please! I believe that the reason why Jesus will wipe away every tear, is not because some of our family or friends won't be there with Him, but the tears will be because we never realised what we could and should have invested in heaven, we will come to a realisation of what has been missed for all eternity, yes, missed for all eternity. Like John, after I rise to my feet when I have finished worshipping Jesus, I will say, "Thank you." Words which sound so hollow, but which cannot convey anything greater.
