here is some truth not lies If you are gay or transgender and know someone who is, this is important information! Sexual orientation is determined in the womb during fetus development. Various hormones are introduced at specific times to accomplish this. The fetus plays no part in this process. A person is born with predetermined physical, biological & psychologic features. It is, therefore, not a choice & consequently not a sin & not immoral. It is a natural path of our evolution & found commonplace in nature. Medical research in this area clearly explains this process. Those who believe it is an abomination do so based not on facts but on religious authority. It is their right to believe this and I understand them. It must be made clear however, it is based on religion not science. If you are truly interested in the truth based on knowledge, the book Gay, Straight & the Reason Why by Dr. Simon Levay explains this with numerous research articles. If you want to understand the truth & have respect for others & yourself, this book will help. It also has, unlike the bible written over 2000 years ago by men that had no understanding of science, an extensive bibliography. I strongly recommend the book. If you chose to respond to me, please read this book &/or the numerous articles referred to in the reference section before hand. The public must be exposed to facts & knowledge. It is an obligation for those who know the truth & must defend it. Don’t let the religious pull you down to their level of ignorance. Peace

With all due respect what makes a person Gay/Bi/Trans/whatever is actually engaging in the acts, despite what they might have going on hormonally. In saying that, I am definitely not judging, looking down upon or condemning them, especially since I'm just as stained from sin as them. I hope nothing but the best for those who have chosen to be a part of those groups and that they receive Jesus into their life's.

@@dan69052e “why” doesent matter. I don’t really care if someone is born gay or trans, or if it’s a choice that’s made, and God doesent care either. It’s a sin. Period. I’ll love those people all the same, and it’s not my place to condemn them. But someone being born a type of way doesent give anybody a free pass to blatantly sin. I was born with the inclination to want to have sex with any pretty woman that comes my way, but that’s a sin too so it is what it is. Not everything we want is ok to have.

@Christian-mlady Жыл бұрын
@@johngoldsworthy7135 I disagree. Buddhism teaches an incredibly subjective view of existence, specifically a subjective view of morality, of self, and that to achieve enlightenment or nirvana, one must shed these ideas. They believe there is no real moral good or bad - there is no I or you. Whereas, Christianity is rooted in completely opposing doctrines. There is a moral good and evil. Our actions matter and no amount of philosophy or shedding of the mind/spirit from this world will bring salvation. In fact, Jesus calls Christians to be actively involved in this world. It’s why other denominations criticize the monastic traditions of Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy.

@angelmacias67233 жыл бұрын
Piety is good, and all which you mentioned are good things. But the action themselves is not an end in themselves. We pray to keep in relationship with God, we fast to exhibit self-control, so that we might be able to act properly when we most need it and offer up suffering such as God did. We do Good such that we might love our neighbor as we love ourselves. but these actions end up working us to being more aligned with God’s will. If done with true and proper intention. And the key thing is if people truly believe in Jesus, they will be changed. St. Paul’s letter to the Romans discusses it and I would recommend checking it out.

The question "How do I choose which religion to follow?" was not really answered. n essence it's equivalent to the question "Which religion is true?" Because if a religion is true, you have to follow it even though you would prefer another one. It also seems strange that he a priori restricts himself to the three Abrahamic religions, which are very similar. How does he know that e.g. Buddhism isn't true?

Sure he may have didn't talk enough about the evidence but keep in mind he never said that you could PROVE it to be right either. For example, you can't even PROVE that without a doubt your mom loves you. Based on the evidence that's displayed between your relationship, that can lead you to conclude that she probably does love you for example. And he's saying that christianity if you're basing religion in the wrong definition, is more of a relationship with God in anyways because you don't have to EARN your way into heaven. You just accept him.

7mins 30secs: what Dr Lennox describes here is a bit confusing for me: whilst describing what he means by "Christianity is a relationship with God, not a religion" he says, in contrast to other god fearing religions, which are merit based, in Christianity you are accepted from the start. This therefore implies, in contrast to the others, that you are accepted in to heaven from the start, as long as you accept Christ, then does that mean that this Christian will go to heaven regardless of any bad or wrong that they do after that 'accepted start'?

This is touched on in the book of James. Faith without works is dead. Look up that verse. It basically means that if you believe in Christ, then there will be evidence of that belief. That evidence is a gradually changed life. It doesn’t happen immediately, but if you’ve truly been saved you’d WANT to follow him as his will for your life is best. You’d repent when you sin. It wouldn’t be a LIFESTYLE. If you’re addicted to porn or have a temper that might not stop right away. You may have setbacks but you’ll still be remorseful and strive towards conquering that sin. You won’t treat it lightly basically. An illustration albeit crude is marriage. If you’re in a marriage or any romantic relationship and you tell your her, “ I love you” yet you constantly beat her, treat her coldly, don’t spend time with her, don’t speak to her, don’t listen to anything she says, cheat on her with no remorse and take advantage of her grace, then do you think you’ve REALLY accepted her as your wife to begin with? Do you think you really love her? It’s the same with God. God can tell when a heart has truly accepted him as savior and thus he gives THAT person eternal life. The Holy Spirit within a saved person will push them and convict them to a right life. If that person is not truly saved then there won’t be evidence of their faith. In fact, there’s a verse that says in the last day many will say lord did I not preach and do good works in your name ? And God will say depart from me I never KNEW you. In other words, they never had a real relationship. So, while good deeds aren’t the basis for salvation, they are the evidence of TRUE belief. Another example would be if a government official held a giveaway where they told you that if you followed some guidelines then you are guaranteed to win 1 million dollars, would you obey? Would you read what they said to do? Of course because you believe in the authority of that man. You trust them. Now if I said I believed them but I didn’t follow the rules, would you conclude that I was serious about winning that prize? No. Similarly, God gives us his word. He says if you follow what he says in the Bible then YOU WILL BENEFIT from it in life because sin brings death. And you need to believe you’re a sinner and confess to gain that initial acceptance from Christ. If I’m going around sinning with no regard for God, and no remorse would you conclude that I believed he was the ultimate authority? If I can’t generally trust that his rules benefit me then how can I trust that he’s my savior and ask for forgiveness in the first place? This is why Faith without works is dead.
@LilRedRasta3 жыл бұрын
Hope I answered your question ! Put simply Fake Christians sin on purpose saying, “I’ll just repent later” and disobey God’s teachings. Even though we are all sinners Christians don’t sin willfully and deliberately. Sin doesn’t become a LIFESTYLE with no remorse. So if a Christian slips up badly but genuinely repents and has the INTENT to TURN from that sin then yes they are saved and will go to heaven. Why? Because their heart testifies to a true relationship and belief that God died for their sins which is the basis of salvation.
@LilRedRasta3 жыл бұрын
It’s about the heart. Matthew 15:8 “ These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.” “ Titus 1:16 They claim to know God, but they deny him by what they do. They are detestable, disobedient, and unfit to do anything good.” John 2:4 Whoever says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person. “ 1 John 3:6 Those who live in Christ don’t go on sinning. Those who go on sinning haven’t seen or known Christ.” “ 1 John 3:8-10 The person who PRACTICES ( Willful lifestyle not a slip up) sin belongs to the evil one, because the Devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason that the Son of God was revealed was to destroy what the Devil has been doing. No one who has been born from God practices sin, because God’s seed abides in him. Indeed, he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born from God. “ Luke 6:46 Why do you call me Lord but don’t do what I tell you?

If YES, then this "assurance" has a catch, and thus makes Christianity no different from other karmic religions. If NO, then this theology only leads to more believing sinners. A little comparison between the 2 holy books: 1- The Bible: It is separated into 2 parts, the Old Testament and the New Testament, and was written over the course of 1500 years by many authors who contributed to the authoring of the bible. The Old Testament’s introduction is claimed to have been written by Moses and the rest was written by many different authors over many centuries BC, but historians and archeologists don’t know who the authors of the Old Testament, the stories that would later become the Bible were transferred by word of mouth across centuries, in the form of oral tales and poetry among the tribes of Israel, Eventually, these stories were collected and written down, concluding that it was written by waves of scribes during the first millennium BC, it took 900 years to write the old testament. The New Testament: They were written between approximately 70 and 100 AD, 1- The first, Mark does not mention virgin birth and was written (not by the disciple) 70-73 years after Christ’s death. 2- In both Matthew 80-90 and Luke 93-100 years after his death, add the claim of virgin birth so early. 3- John dates 100- 118 years after Christ's death They are written not as eyewitness accounts. Over 30,000 changes in The New Testament according to (t.ly/tP12g ). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- John Barton (a British Anglican priest and biblical scholar): Q1: How reliable is the Old Testament as a historical document? A: Some parts, of the Old Testament, contain some real historiography, even though it may not all be accurate. Q2: When was the Old Testament assembled into the book it is today? A: Probably during the first century BC, and for a long time, it was a collection of individual scrolls, not a single book between two covers. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Most scholars agree that they are the work of unknown Christians and were composed c. 68-110 AD. The majority of New Testament scholars also agree that the Gospels do not contain eyewitness accounts; but that they present the theologies of their communities rather than the testimony of eyewitnesses (rb.gy/f38yfn ). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Bible is full of contradictions: (t.ly/MDhal ) (t.ly/CPzMI ). The Gospel of John is a relatively late theological document containing little accurate historical information that is not found in the three synoptic gospels, which is why most historical studies have been based on the earliest sources Mark and Q. (t.ly/dxAV7 ) Stories in the bible that are just not good for a holy book: 1- When Lot offers to send his daughters out to be raped by the angry crowd, and then later on they have sex with their father. 2- When God and his son Satan make a bet and kill all of Job’s kids to see how he handles it, but it’s not a big deal, because after God wins Job gets a new bunch of kids. Good thing children are so replaceable?! 3- The contradictory creation stories, where Man is either created first or last, depending on which part of Genesis you’re reading. 4- The bit where it states when and how you can sell your daughter as a slave. Or the one where it tells you to kill your children if they’re rude to you. The Ebionites were one of several such sects that originated in and around Palestine in the first centuries AD and included the Nazarenes and Elkasites (70 AD - 400 AD), they believed in one God and taught that Jesus was the Messiah and were the true “prophet” mentioned in Deuteronomy 18:15. They rejected the Virgin Birth of Jesus, instead holding that he was the natural son of Joseph and Mary. The Ebionites believed Jesus became the Messiah because he obeyed the Jewish Law. (t.ly/H7-Ye ) Conclusions: The bible is not a reliable source of belief nor a reliable source of history due to the changes that happened to it over the course of 3000 years which I believe can not be the case for a real holy book from an almighty god, and the trinity was debatable in the first centuries of Christianity and it’s not mentioned in the bible explicitly though it’s the main belief of Christianity. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2- Quran: In Islamic belief, it was the Messenger Muhammad who received the revelation directly. There is no other human intervention in the revelation, only (God => Gabriel => Muhammad). The story of how we got the Quran from the prophet to the book we have today is agreed upon by all Islamic sources and there are no Disagreements between them unless in some small details that are not really that effective in the course of the story. Transferring the Qur’an was done in two ways: First: The writing that was done for the Qur’an was done by order of the Messenger, for notable people to whom this matter was entrusted. The Messenger did not die until the entire Qur’an was written in his house, on boards of wood, bone, some papers, and stone, due to the scarcity of availability of papers at that time. Second: Memorizing it through oral transmission from the great reciters and memorizers of the Companions. Those in turn received it from the Messenger, who approved of how to pronounce and perform it, it’s worth mentioning that the Quran has its unique style that makes you able to memorize it easily even if you aren’t a native Arabic speaker, and that’s agreed upon by Muslims throughout history. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- How the compilation of the Qur’an was done: 1- The Holy Qur’an was collected in one book during the reign of Abu al-Siddiq (the first Caliph), may God be pleased with him, because a lot of the memorizers of the Qur’an were killed in wars during that time, and they feared that the Qur’an would be lost. So Omar ibn al-Khattab suggested writing the Qur’an in one book. Abu Bakr initially opposed the idea because of his fear that he would do something that the Prophet had not done. After that, he sent Zaid bin Thabit to collect everything that was written as a piece of the Qur’an and collect it all in one book, and the way he did it simply by announcing that he would collect the Quran so if anyone had a copy of it written directly from the prophet bring it to him so he can review it with what is already memorized of the Quran (and it’s worth mentioning that he was one of the known memorizers of the Quran), then the whole Quran was collected in one book by 650 CE, which is 20 years after the death of Mohammed. 2- The Holy Qur’an was collected in a number of copies during the reign of Uthman. Another problem arose during the reign of Caliph Uthman, which was the multiplicity of tongues and the fear that the Qur’an would be distorted due to the story that the Muslims used when they differed in the way of reading the Qur’an. So he made a unified copy from which one could write, and he wrote the copies from the copy that was written in Abu Bakr’s ruling period which was written 20 years after the death of Mohammed, and it is crucial to mention that the difference was of “how to read” the Quran but the meaning was subtle to all. (t.ly/dOj4Z ) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Prophet died in the seventh century AD, and any copy of the Hafs narration from the 8th century until now is all the same without differences, but a manuscript at the University of Birmingham matches the text we have by 99%, and in a manuscript from Yemen called Sana’a Manuscript it matches by 95% ( The difference is just in the words, but they contain the same meaning. It is not known whether the two of them were before or after the Uthmani Qur’an. Therefore, we are not able to determine with 100% accuracy their origins. (t.ly/TamjN ) And there are some Nmircal Miracles that implicitly prove that the Qur’an wasn’t edited (rb.gy/ylhh6y ) (t.ly/RAIj9 ), though they aren’t really a main miracle of the Quran and a lot of people (Muslims and non-muslims) believe that it’s just a coincidence that those patters exist but I find them interesting. Reasons why it was hard to add something to the Quran over the course of all those many centuries: (t.ly/3gD-4 ). Reasons why Mohammed couldn’t write the Quran by himself (rb.gy/ze470g ). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It took 1500 for the bible to be written in the form of a book for the first time. The Quran took 20 years after the death of Mohammed. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's normal to edit the bible in Christianity, it's forbidden to edit the Quran in Islam. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Islam = Evidence of it being from no human being + Solid Construction that preserved the Scriptures + Faith Christianity = Little Evidence of it being from god + No Solid Construction that preserved the Scriptures + Faith ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- thanks for reading (;

And if he had known more about the great spiritual masters of Islam, such as ibn Arabi, Rumi and the sufi sunni masters, all his representation of Islam would turn to be simply a misrepresentation of it. Yet Islam also expects people to be adult people assuming responsible attitudes which is weakened by a you got it all from right now message. Besides the fact that the christian texts are largely problematic in their historicity so when a crhstian says: Jesus said this it falsely pressuposes that we can be sure that the text saying has adequatedly preserved what he really taught on that regard. John 20:29 Jesus said unto him, “Thomas, because thou hast seen Me, thou hast believed. Blessed are they that have not seen and yet have believed.”

I would like to make a comment but I don’t know what more to say, he has already said it all.

Shouldn't be hard to know as a mathematician, trinity contradicts monotheism.

If you understand that we live in a multi dimensional world, then the Trinity makes perfect sense.

@@fromtheease To a delusional for sure. That's why a delusional also thinks a god can die. And as the same time killing of an innocent (Jesus) forgives a sin. Also if Jesus revived, then his "acting death" is worthless and it was just an act. So many contradictions because a delusional has no logic to protect his mind from doing mistakes. How three can be one but at the same time they have separate minds and give orders to himself. We know Jesus was not a regular man. But that doesn't qualify the currpotion happened after that. You have no idea if the bible is truth. So why don't you search for the truth some where else. If you keep being in denial and stubborn. Then there is no difference between you and who Jesus was preaching and they refused to listen to him because they refused to think twice or leave their fathers corrupt religion.

An effective spirituality makes religion redundant. All we need can be found in Transcendental Consciousness. Twice daily experience of it expands the individual consciousness. I have been doing it for the past 44 years and I found myself forgiving all who offend me. No priest could teach me that. It develops naturally within the self when you have an effective spirituality that is not to be found in religion. One can attain the feel good factor from religion but it doesn't get any better than that. Expanding one's consciousness opens life in all its fullness. Live long and prosper.

"How do I choose which religion to follow?" I have no idea how you choose. 7 or 8 billion people probably have the same question. I eagerly anticipate 7 billion youtube videos as each person answers the question.

You choose the one where they adhere to Bible teachings, live the WHOLE day every day accordingly, and reject the false doctrines in the mainstream churches when shown scriptural evidence contrary to those false doctrines. I have shown many Christians scriptural evidence against certain doctrines. They see it, hear it, know it's right...and then cognitive dissonance kicks in and they reject it. Why? Probably because they aren't humble enough to acknowledge they are wrong, plus it usually means making a big change in their lives. Many so-called Christians today are like water...they want to take the easy route. Sorry, but there is no easy way for a true Christian. The gate is narrow and the way to life is difficult....and few find it.
