John Lennox on "2084: Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Humanity"

The artificial intelligence revolution has implications for all of us. What will the year 2084 hold for us humans? Are we doomed to the dystopias of George Orwell’s "1984" or Aldous Huxley’s "Brave New World"? Or will it be a trans-humanist utopia?
John Lennox is an Irish mathematician, bioethicist, and Christian apologist. He has written many books on religion, ethics, the relationship between science and God, and has had public debates with atheists including Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens.
In this lecture, mathematician and philosopher, Professor Emeritus John Lennox (MA, MA Bioethics, PhD, DPhil, DSc) of Oxford University, will introduce some of the key developments in technological enhancement, bioengineering, and in particular, artificial intelligence.
He will discuss the current capacity of AI, its advantages and disadvantages, the facts and fiction, as well as potential future implications, including the trans-humanist project. The next thing to happen according to scripture is Jesus return, resurrection of the dead, great white throne judgement. This is the best talk I've ever heard from John Lennox. It's a really scary talk but I believe he is pretty much spot on! It's just very worrying for my beautiful Grandchildren to be living in the world envisaged by JL. AI(AGI), etc., will not make a determination to 'realize' that is conscious...it runs on efficiency: it will put forth the best, logical, adaptations for mankind based upon this term: to be efficient for mankind's survival. Therefore mankind will believe the deeply inherent logic of the efficient 'mind' therein and implement the logical outcome even if it is seemingly extreme in deduction. Hence the feeling that it will be thinking for us, when in fact it will be simply using a core of extensive knowledge efficiently.

Indeed, these three times never told me to adopt the epithet; Paul goes out of his way to avoid the term, despite Felix, with whom Paul is speaking, uses it in conflating the message of Paul (Acts24:14), while Peter uses it attached to a list of egregious sin against God and His Image -- does that not show the intent of the term? Peter, later on, is attributed hymns still used in Judaism, because Peter didn't change his ideas, his ideas were merely fully comprehended: the faith of the Scripture and of the newer Testament is of Israel and her Husband. Charles Spurgeon morning and evening devotional King James version is great as well to start your mornings over. You will find, that walking with God, sloughs off our foolish pride, humbled us to Truths NEVER acquired elsewhere in this earth and cuts the wheat from the chaff in ALL ways You will come to know, the more we know the less we know about everything. Thus why, a man as learned and who walks with God is so humble and gentle and meek as opposed to others he debates with, who largely are haughty and vainglorious...watch Him and Jordan Peterson whom I pray Christ does meet HIM and fill him, but even then you'll see the difference of a man with a Godly perspective over one who is "intellectually gifted" in the way of the world, yet a babe, in the ways of the true and living God.
