I have no words to comment about John in this performance. It doesn't matter if he's not singing perfectly this concert, but he makes me feel this song so strong, I was just ecstatic all this video. He's the best, no matter what people say.

HANDS DOWN, the best rendition of this song I've heard. Felt every note down to my toes. Not sure if people appreciate what it takes to riff both vocally and instrumentally, but I sure do appreciate it!

I was lucky enough to be there and I have to say this was the highlight of the night for me!! Being that it was a "cd" release concert, I was so happy that he played so many old songs, not just the new ones. All and all it was awesome!!!

although i dont really like his singing a whole lot in this one, i can really feel him in it. you know? i can FEEL him. i cant feel anything from him on his new songs. I can FEEL his soul through his guitar on this. Theres the intensity dripping through every note he plays. Theres legitamacy in his dance with teh guitar. I just cant feel it or see it in lthings like friends lovers or nothing or perfectly lonely. it just isnt there.

We can talk about the little itty bitty mistakes that John makes like his vocals or whatever.. but think about the overall sound. I wanted to freakin' jump with him in my chair just watching this video! And the finale? Simply amazing! You can't not give John credit for the amazing performance he still gave. Kudos to you John.

he's had Granuloma, which is an infection to his vocal chords. he's also had surgery last year and wasn't able to speak for a whole month, and without performing for almost a year. He'll be back in December or January.

OH, and Steven Tyler from Aerosmith and his daughter Liv were in the audience and he was rocking out to the songs.....he had that big old "trademark" smile going on!

@nthsieh928 Probably the reason you feel more from this than you do on songs from Battle Studies is because Mayer said Continuum was his love afair with jazz, blues, and pop (which with jazz and blues brings soul). Then he described Battle Studies as a pop album which sets him up for his next album to be more guitar centered. He will proabably come out with another album similar to Heavier Things next. It should be good!

His guitar solo is quite sublime here. Good note progressions, he's feeling the notes and not just spewing out a lot of notes without consideration. Though I think his voice is quite off at some playes in this concert.

I really don't like the new lines for keys. These swells are really annoying and can't come close to the simplicity and awesomeness of the original. Mayers guitarplaying is still awesome though...
