I love Mayer songs, the guy squeezes a billion chords into a song (at least his old ones) - it's not that it sounds like anything special as such, but it just gives it so much variation melody wise

Hurt is going to be on the next record, along with taking on water and crossroads (I think). He's said in a few interviews that it's going to be an accoustic album so we'll see how it goes.

I love this song for its honesty, but I would tell John, don't personalise a decision that she made without your consultation. Yes, it hurts, but it has no bearing on how you loved her.
