I love it how John is old fashioned; he says that he's moved. That is so dear to me, when someone still adheres to the old style thinking, because that's how I was raised. I grew up around people who lived during the depression days, so I still have those memories and mentality.

I bet that John would be interesting to talk to, he sounds intelligent and intellectual, down to earth, very plain simple and easy speech. I miss that, because people now just dont seem to care enough nowadays.

Its surprising to hear John mentioning about all these old classic singing Greats, when he looks so young, like how would he know about them? And when he said, "there's something to be said about that", well I havent heard that saying since '70's type of talk. 😊

I am an English guy who lived in the States for a while in the 70’s and loved the Doobies then and still do. Recently I have rediscovered them and woken up to how brilliant they still are. But the thing is, when you watch their live stuff now, there is something hugely charismatic and magnetic about seeing John McFee on stage. He makes it look so easy, he looks like he’s having fun, and engaging with the audience. Then you watch this and you realise he is also as nice a guy as there is, intelligent, articulate, and humble too. Without even mentioning his multi-instrumental brilliance. He is one of my all-time favourite musicians. With US politics in the state it’s now in, maybe he should run for President!

This is a great interview of a great musician. Love to hear these "old school" guys with real chops discuss their craft. These are the guys who made music when you had to have real talent to make records - like he said, real music. Cris Cohen conducts a great interview - do some research in advance, ask the question, sit back and let the guest tell their story. So many interviewers want to make it about them. Nice work from both John and Cris. Thanks.
