This is genuinely the funniest opening I’ve ever seen and I’m so glad to see him doing so much better. He’s made us laugh for years and we nerve know what happening behind the scenes, I can’t imagine how nerve racking it is to come back to the stage and anticipate the public’s reaction but he killed it

@@jeanette3915 as much as you're entitled to think that, you have to remember that we don't know what goes on behind the scenes or the specifics of these people's personal lives or situation. I think taking sides and judging people we don't know is rather parasocial; this isn't a case like Johnny and Amber where specifics were aired publicly. Changing your mind about wanting children is also valid I think.

This hits a real hard place and makes the sad bits of me smile. When we had an intervention for my dad in late 2018, he definitely wasn't expecting it. It's been a hard road for him, but he's been clean for about a year now. And this humor from an addict helps me understand my dad and love him through it. Thank you to John Mulaney for being so open.

Please Pray for John. This is his 2nd time through recovery. He may start to think getting sober again is his way to funny.. I know it isn't rational. But addiction has nothing to do with rational or personal power or attitude... It's about crossing a line before we knew there was a line and Never ever having power to stop. It's a God intervenes moment even if we don't believe in God ...
