My best friend growing up was a boy name Daniel I was a rich kid my family owned all the business and the quarry in our small town Daniel I guess you would say was from the wrong side of the tracks 6ft and Built by the age of 16 he was kinda of a bully to everyone but not me we were the most unlikely of friends but we would spend hours up in his bedroom listening to old LP records on old stereo Daniel had a depth and appreciation for lyrics and Poetry that he didn’t show to anyone else but me maybe because I played guitar Daniel introduced me to John Prine he was Daniel’s favourite Artist - Daniel died in a car crash around about the time his 19th birthday it broke my heart - I still can hear him singing bruised orange walking a head in the mist as we walked home from what ever night adventures we had been on - Still Miss you Daniel think of you when ever I play me some John Prine

What a beautiful story and at the same time what a sad story; I think all of us have sometimes homesickness as we think of the friends we had in our younger days…

Amigo, me sucedió lo mismo, primero Bob Dylan (desde 1976) y John Prine ahora (desde 2020 y conocerlo solo después de publicarse su muerte).. En mi caso tengo PERDON pues soy de un lejano país llamado Chile... Saludos. -------------------------------------------- Friend, the same thing happened to me, first Bob Dylan (since 1976) and John Prine now (since 2020 and meet him only after his death was published) .. In my case I am FORGIVENESS because I am from a distant country called Chile ... Greetings.

Never heard of him growing up, then my friend took me to see him in Grand Forks, ND. He was white haired at this time. One of the best concerts I've ever been to. I became an instant fan. I got to discover his music as new 30 years after this performance.

I seriously thought about the lyrics to this song and laughed my ass off about it,until i realized it was a perfect description of me and my tumultuous marriage at the time.

"John Prine was a sweet and lovely man, and I was proud to count him as my friend. He wrote music of towering compassion with an almost unheard of precision and creativity when it came to observing the fine details of ordinary lives. He was a writer of great humor, funny, with wry sensitivity. It has marked him as a complete original.”--Bruce Springsteen

Dedicated to Mr. Trump. I try not to get political on Facebook, but sometimes I just can't resist. I have to wonder why it is that Trump says democrats as "so desperate" to make sure he doesn't run again that they had his home "raided." Hmmm - If there is nothing there that would prevent him from being able to run, he shouldn't be worried.
@doylegaines1319 Жыл бұрын
Speaking as a die-hard Trump fan and also a long time lover of John Prine and his superlative songwriting talent (since 1969 if memory serves), I suggest you refrain from using Mr. Prine as a tool for political comment. Both John and Trump could speak for themselves, and I for one, do not need you to throw your $0.02 into the mix and harsh up the vibe. That's just my opinion, of course..
