In this clip, John Salley explained the origin of Isiah Thomas and Michael Jordan’s beef, and John revealed that Isiah first became annoyed when he saw his nephew wearing a Jordan jersey while Thomas was playing for Detroit. John added that Isiah was going off against Michael in games to get his nephew to see that he was a better player than Jordan. When asked about the “Dream Team” situation, John explained that Magic Johnson said in his documentary that he’s the reason that Isiah didn’t make the team. John added that Jordan “loved” Isiah and the other Pistons players, and John spoke about his friendship with Jordan over the years. To hear more, including John speaking about the “Bad Boys” era of the Pistons, hit the above clip.

Why is it always "political" with Leattner for black people? Previous to the DREAM TEAM, the Olympic team was college players. He was the best college player in front of the public on TV - made the magic last shot of the NCAA championship. He was there as a bridge. Could have been Grant Hill from that team. But Leattner made the famous shot that Hill made a great pass to.

Now you have two non shooting forwards no AD against Grant Jordan and a anomaly in Pip . Boy this is good . Thanks Salley. The media is for low intellect people. In my opinion Isaiah Thomas twists and distorts situations to make himself look like the victim. Jordan's dislike of Thomas is a reaction of the Piston's bad deeds against the Bulls. The Pistons not only played physical.....they took it to a level that they are TRYING to injure the opposing players and that is malicious. Now I think Jordan could of forgiven that but what I think what made it more worse was that Isaiah Thomas (along with most of his teamates) REFUSED to shake hands with the Bulls in 1991 when they were swepted. Jordan was always decent enough to shake the Pistons hands in each of the 3 years prior when they lost to the Pistons....and when Jordan overcame them the Pistons refused to shake hands. To me that shows the Pistons were bad people. Isaiah tries to justifiy that by saying "The Celtics refused to shake our hands when we finally beat them".....but why did the Celtics ONLY refused to shake the Pistons hands in defeat and not other teams they got defeated by? I think it was a reaction to the Pistons malicious bad intentions style of play. You all see how Isaiah likes to twist and distort facts to HIS favor?
@Jeff_Pryce
@Jeff_Pryce Жыл бұрын
You glossed over one key fact: Before the Game 4 where the Bulls swept the Pistons in 1991, Jordan went off to the media telling them that nobody would miss Detroit, that most people would be glad to be rid of them and they dirtied up the game. It’s one thing not to like the Pistons or how they played or whatever, but to say those things to an opponent you’re about to sweep while they’re down and almost out is unsportsmanlike. Had Jordan not said those things, maybe the Pistons would have shaken hands. But they specifically said in their documentary that Jordan’s comments were insulting enough to the point where they couldn’t justify shaking hands with him or the Bulls after the fact. They all acted very immaturely in that series. Jordan was in the wrong for being a sore winner and Isiah was in the wrong for walking off. They both took “L”s for conduct.

What ppl never mention & talk about is in the previous years playoffs, the Celtics did the same thing to the Pistons when Pistons knocked them out. Celtics walked off with no handshakes. Nobody said nor still says shit! So DET thought oh, so we can do the same when we don't feel like it. So they did it to the Bulls next year and he and the Pistons are still paying & answering for that decision while the Celtics got away clean. Smh Mind you, when CHI went up 3-0 is when they dropped that the league is better off without DET in the playoffs. Who says that about the not only current champs but back to back champs?? I'm an MJ fan but Thomas states a lot of valid points. One being the Celtics/Lakers rivalry & games were riddled with hard fouls & takedowns that would be considered ejectable offenses & suspensions nowadays. Thomas stayed getting knocked on his ass when driving down the lane. Karl Malone split his head open. Dr J jabbed up Birds face while Bird was being choked out from behind. That was par for the course back then but when it happens to MJ it's nahh, that's too far now?? Cuz they wanna market the dunk & purify the game to reach a broader audience. That's fine & dandy but let's not act like the Pistons were the ONLY team giving out pain here. Stop it.

Jordan, Pippen, Magic, Bird, Ewing, Barkley, Robinson, Malone, all hated Isiah at the time. They all thought Isiah led the dangerous play that Pistons were known for. If your opponents feel like you purposely tried to injure them during the game, you're not going to be well liked. Don't cry about not getting an invitation to the party, when you're an a-hole.

Go to Chgo Stadium & see this new kid fly.* *That took Zeke out.* *He was no longer favorite son.* As the Bulls got better, Zeke became more bitter. *The games between Chgo & Detroit became bloodbaths,* *the deliberate attempt to injure Bulls players,* *the dirty player label stuck-on Zeke in Chgo.* *By The time of the cowardly walk off,* *Zeke couldn't come home.* *We watched the Pistons "Literally" beat* *DaShit out of MJ & he was gracious to shake their hands afterwards.* Soon as the Bulls conquered them(they)punked out. The Olympic stuff was a mere formality. *Zeke knew he couldn't come back home & that killed him.* *Killed him.* *Even his boy Rodman will never have to pay for a meal,* *a drink-anything in Chgo.-* *Rodman's that revered-here.* *Zeke(?) Salley is so full of it. I just an hour ago watched a KZbin video where Thomas himself talks about how he and Magic ended their beef, but why he and Michael never have. He also is pissed that Michael diss'd him on TV. Michael has never gotten over how the Pistons left the court when the Bulls finally beat them in the playoffs, with any handshakes or any acknowledgement. Michael gave the worse Hall of Fame acceptance speech I've ever seen, because all he talked about was grudges. Salley needs to quit covering for his friends, ALL THE TIME, and get off the "Repetillian" shit. Must be what he's smoking.
