I'm a huge MJ fan but Chuck did nothing wrong and the only thing I see is MJ got a taste of his own medicine. MJ told Scottie not to go to Houston because Charles lacked work ethic and when he was on the Oprah Winfrey show he said Chuck didn't have what it took to be a winner. But when Charles said MJ was doing a terrible job as the Hornets owner, which was true, it was a problem. Chuck was just doing his job by making an honest assessment.
@bowsershark2 жыл бұрын
You are correct on this aspect of the Chuck analysis. But, Chuck spoke about the inner circle of people around jordan which he had access to as a result of being MJ's friend. The private interactions of the inner circle are off bounds because those moments Chuck would have no access to if he was not in MJ's inner circle. Those he took advantage of private conversations and used the information publically for his job. No Bueno! Behind close doors talk is not meant for his job's public audience.

Charles Barkley is a sports analyst. If someone asks him a question about a team, a player or an organization he is supposed to give his honest opinion. That's his job. That's what I like about Charles he will always give an honest analysist. He was 100% correct on Michael Jordan as an NBA Owner. Michael has sucked as an owner of the Charlotte Hornets. Michael has owned the Hornets for 12 years and they have only been to the playoffs twice and lost. They have been barely over 500 three times in 12 years. They are horrific as a franchise under Jordan. When people asks Charles about Jordan as a player, he always says Jordan was the greatest. That's all Michael wants to hear is praises. Michael needs to wake up. He can not have it both ways. It is nothing he should be angry about because It is true. He sucks as an NBA owner and is no where near the success of the Bulls organization where he won all those championships as a player and I am a Michael Jordan fan.

If Jordan can’t accept honest criticism from Barkley then they weren’t ever really friends anyway. A true friend is supposed to give you tough love when it’s necessary. Barkley wasn’t disrespecting him as a man, he was giving his honest opinion on his performance as a professional. And he was absolutely correct in his assessment. Jordan does everything from an egotistical standpoint and he got his little feelings hurt by hearing the truth and he’s not above criticism. The truth of the matter is that Jordan SUCKS as a GM. He sucked in Washington and he sucks in charlotte. He sucked so bad in Washington that Ab Poland fired him as the President/GM. Go back and look at ALL the draft picks that Jordan selected in his decades as the decision maker for both of those teams. If he wasn’t the owner of the Hornets, he would’ve been fired from there too. John Sally has been saying a lot of dumb sh¡t during the last few interview clips that have come out recently. As far as Iverson being a fanboy for Jordan, that sh¡t is corny. Jordan and iverson are contemporaries. Iverson’s friends were correct in telling him the truth about being him being fanboy. It's somewhat ironic that Kanye West's name came up, in this interview, because he's kind of like the opposite of John Salley ? MJ is an extremely loyal person. Once you are his friend, it’s for life……unless you violate that loyalty. And Chuck knew this, but he went ahead and violated the loyalty. Chuck isn’t a journalist, he’s a talking head whose job is to make people laugh. Had he sidestepped the question about Jordan’s effectiveness as a team owner, nobody would’ve thought less of him. An example of Jordan’s loyalty: Buzz Petersen was Jordan’s roommate at North Carolina. Buzz hailed from an upper middle class background and came to NC with a huge wardrobe, with a couple dozen pairs of dress shoes. Jordan, meanwhile, had mostly gym shoes with a couple pairs of beat up dress shoes. Buzz and Jordan wore the same size shoes, and Jordan asked if he could wear Buzz’s shoes. Buzz said, ‘my shoes are your shoes’. When Jordan signed with the Bulls, and he would shop for dress shoes, he would hand a card to the shoe salesman, telling him to send the same model shoe that he had purchased to the address on the card. It was Buzz Petersons address. After around 25years of this, Buzz informed Jordan that this shoe gifting had to end, that he had hundreds of pairs in his basement and that his garage was now full. Jordan told Buzz, ‘it’ll stop when I die’.
