Used to work at a TBN affiliate TV station, and I edited our local Praise The Lord program. I remember when the TBN firings happened. It was another event God used among many to bring me to where I am today, in a good reformed church under great elders. Thanks be to God, prayers for Mr. Samson's ministry and for those hearing this interview. *P. S. - the common key to freedom from false teachings, and one I saw often lacking in prior churches and friends, is the DAILY reading of SEVERAL chapters of the Bible. His Word will ALWAYS set you straight.

Last Sunday I walked out of a church I've been vising for a couple of months. It was 32nd anniversary and the retired founders of the church were there and the wife got up to give a word and admitted they were a word of faith church and how it is biblical it was. I started feeling in my spirit to get out of there. She must have sensed that, because went on a defending Kenneth Copeland rant... That was all I needed to know. Praying that I will find a full gospel church soon. They are getting hard to find....

I was going to ORU when the pastor of one of the largest churches in Tulsa had terminal cancer. Benny hin did a healing service at the same time at the church. I went to the service to stand in intercession for my father who has MS back in NY. Benny concluded the service by saying " I'm leaving now to go heal the pastor in the hospital ". He proclaimed it so matter of factly. The pastor died soon after. It was very sad but it opened my eyes...

Hi, our problem seems to be connected to trusting a minister bc who they claim to be, rather than keeping Jesus as the head of the body and relying on the written Word to test what we are taught to know what spirit it is of. Jesus is our desire and the absolute Truth giver.I understand the confusion, but we need rooted and grounded in the Word of God.

Both my grandparents were singing in the quire and I was a few rows over, just about center left stage near the top seats. A blind woman sat next to me, praying vehemently the whole time for healing. As Benny waved the spirit of the holy ghost over one side of the quire, they all fell down. Then center, then around to my side... Everyone but my grandpa, and myself and of course the blind woman who could not see the wave, fell into their seats. I was watching my Papa, he never fell. So I didn't. I confess and declared God's word and what Jesus said if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed you will move mountains. My children were sick didn't take them to the doctor because I did not have the money, I prayed🙏 and declared healing over him and he was healed. My older son went on a vacation with my brother went to the pool his ear got infected and his face got swollen, I prayed for him and he was healed, his face went back to normal and my sister didn't had to take him to the hospital.

When we pray and ask God for what we need he will do it if we trust and believe in him. I am going to share a testimony. I had a car that was having issues, I took it to the repair shop that my employer deals with. They gave me an estimate of $697 I left it with them while was traveling on vacation, when I came back I contacted them a week after, and the car still was not done and they increased the price twice what they quoted me which is $1300. I ask them not to proceed with any thing. I went home prayed to God asking him to allow someone who knows about car that can give me a better price. Two after I prayed a mechanic walked into my office handed me an invoice, I said to him that I didn't know he repairs vehicle for my company. I told him the problem I am having with my car, he ask me to bring it over I had a wrecker took it their. Low and behold the mechanic called me within a week and told me that my car is done. I ask him the cost of the repair he said $120. I gave him $180 dollars instead that man was soo happy😊 I started to give thanks and praise for his awesome greatness. I have more miraculous testimonies to share but it will be too long. My heavenly father stands by his word he is a faithful father, he never fails. Trust in God with all your might.

My wife in 2005 went into a nursing home and than she too became sick lost her right leg. I prayed for her and our Church Pastor which was the son of the former Pastor. Than this is when I start to question this healing movement and tongues, so on. My wife is 15 yrs older than I, she passed away in 2014. Since that time I didn't go to church every Sunday. Now I don't go any at all. Hard to find a true Bible teaching Church. So I listen to you tube Christian video's. Like here / Justin and John. and others too. God bless

I feel your loss and desperation. I too i've grown in church,a pastors child but now adult and no longer in church with my family. Church is a very toxic and confusing environment. I have done alot of research on this religions especially christianity and found we were decieved from Rome and the councils of Nicea. When the Temple in Jerusalem was destroyed in 70AD,Romans and the Piso family (the then ruling dynasty)took the scrolls and rebranded christianity . Emperor Constantine converted but usurped christianity. From the year 300AD RCC has been manipulating the doctrines one after another till today few remember the correct names of our creator and the son. Proverbs 30:4. So if you want to re construct your faith start from yt names of God in Hebrew. Read a Bible with apocryphal books. Peace to you.

I have seen many healing … miraculous all glory to God and His Son, Jesus. I was in a Charismatic church, but it was not a WOF. There is a difference. I’ve also prayed for others who were not healed, one of which was my husband. And he was an incredible man! What I’ve learned from this and other situations is to trust God and accept His authority and Sovereignty. He gives and takes away, blessed be His Name. Jesus teaches us to pray, “Thy will be done…”, not ‘my will be done’. I’m sorry you lost your and your pastor. It’s a grief hard to bare. But I’ve found that song “Through It All” …. I’ve learned to depend upon His Love” to be so true. My husband passed after 2 years in a nursing home, his family accused me of attempted murder, we list our insurance so we went on Medicaid and list all our assets, I eventually sold our beautiful home, and I’m now in a very small apartment. But I’m healthy! I have my family, I was not found guilty…. lol f course!!! But greedy family thought he had a big savings and thought they should be his guardian… after all, in their eyes I was after his money when we married. No… he made half of what my former husband made, I saw his heart and lived him without any trappings. Through it all, I’ve learned to trust in Jesus, I’ve learned to trust in God…. I hope you can come to the same place… Gid is Sivereign in all our affairs, but we need to acknowledge His Lordship, even when we don’t understand and things don’t work out the way we planned.

I've always found that as an odd lie, that if it is healing it must be of God. We read in Revelation that Satan heals the wounded beast and people worship him because of it. Edit: Sorry, it says the beast's wound was healed and that his power and authority was given to him by Satan. Though the fact stands, Satan too has the power to heal.

Me and my family have recently walked away from the Pentecostal movement and this past year has been a transitioning year, though it may take some more years before the charismatic bad habits are fully gone from the people This was such a great encouragement, truly truly a breathe of fresh air! Thank you John Samson for your testimony! Thank God for His grace and mercy!

Praise the Lord and welcome to the growing community of 'recovering charismatics!' 🙂 As you study God's word you will begin to shed your 'charismatic baggage.' Some things will take longer than others but remember that the Lord began this work in you and is faithful to complete it. Pride can lead us to believe that we have the proper understanding of Scripture so it is important to be humble as we allow God's Word to speak to our hearts and His Spirit to correct us and lead us toward Christlikeness. We must also be humble as 'ex-pentecostals' and not begin to look down on those brethren who are still caught up in that. God bless!

@@JustinPetersMin amen brother! If there is a video topic I can recommend, there is this Latino Pentecostal preacher that is basically the chief idol of the hispanic Pentecostal movement (beginning from Puerto Rico) his name is YIYE AVILA, he is no longer alive but his teachings live on, I say it as personal testimony, I myself use to follow his preachings. Unfortunately it is all in Spanish, it would take a lot of time to examine his sermons and “actions” but I’m sure you have brothers who could translate his preaching for you. It would truly be a bombshell, for good, in the Pentecostal movement for the Hispanic community because no one has really criticized this man and anyone who lifts a finger is literally condemned to hell, literally. May be impossible but would be something amazing. God bless you and your ministry, you have been such a great blessing to me and my brothers.

@@NitoLFC12 I used to love Yiye Avila! I most admired the fervor with which he preached and his discipline but at the time I didn't have a proper understanding of the substance of his preaching. My friend told me that later in life he repented for leading Latin America into legalism- not sure if that is true. Someone did a pretty good 'post mortem' analysis of him here: evangelioreal.com/2018/11/21/las-falsas-ensenanzas-de-yiye-avila/ However, since he is dead, the greater modern day threats are people like Cash Luna, Guillermo Maldonado, Danilo Montero and the conga line of *so called* prophets and apostles.

Yeah. My dad was the pastor of a small pentecostal church in SoCal. So, I grew up around some of this foolishness. But, Dad was the real deal kind of person. The guy you saw in the pulpit on Sunday was the same guy you saw in his underwear getting ready for work on Monday. Dad had a kind of proverb he would say, "The Holy Spirit is the perfect gentleman, He never calls attention to Himself. The Holy Spirit is always pointing to Jesus." In my own ministry career--more than 50 years of ordained ministry--that little proverb I learned from my Dad as a pre-teen served me well. Dad never bought into the WOF movement and neither did I. Why? Read that little proverb again.

Another Biblical “proverb” that can stand us in good stead is from Revelation 19:10b: “The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” Jesus took time after His resurrection to point out how all the Scriptures-from Moses and the Law to the psalms and prophets-spoke of Him. Jesus, during His life, spoke so much of His coming death, burial, and Resurrection as well as the coming of the Holy Spirit, who would show them things to come and bring to their remembrance all that He had told them (including His second coming.) And then John’s final contribution-the glorious revelation of Jesus Christ! It’s all about HIM-the Way, the Truth, and the Life-The Living Word of God who tabernacled among us, and now lives in us.

@@brianroads3694 regarding tongues, when done in public it must be interpreted and in order (no more than 3 speaking in tongues and taking turns so as not to do so in a chaotic simultaneous manner). Otherwise, tongues are to be spoken in private (in your prayer closet between that person alone and God) for self edification. I would say the "charismatic" movement largely does not honor the Biblical directives when speaking tongues corporately - as it is not done in order and not interpreted for the edification of the congregation as a whole. The Holy Spirit does not operate in confusion.
@kellyeckert1
@kellyeckert1 3 жыл бұрын
Although it is not indicated consistently in some translations, the distinction between the singular “tongue” and the plural “tongues” is foundational to the proper interpretation of this chapter. Paul seems to use the singular to distinguish the counterfeit gift of pagan gibberish and the plural to indicate the genuine gift of a foreign language. It was perhaps in recognition of that, that the King James Version (KJV) translators added consistently the word “unknown” before every singular form (see vv. 2; 4; 13; 14; 19; 27). Against the backdrop of carnality and counterfeit ecstatic speech learned from the experience of the pagans, Paul covers three basic issues with regard to speaking in languages by the gift of the Holy Spirit: 1) its position, inferior to prophecy (vv. 1-19); 2) its purpose, a sign to unbelievers not believers (vv. 20-25); and 3) its procedure, systematic, limited, and orderly (vv. 26-40). This is singular indicating that it refers to the false gibberish of the counterfeit pagan ecstatic speech. The singular is used because gibberish can’t be plural; there are not various kinds of non-language. There are, however, various languages; hence when speaking of the true gift of language, Paul uses the plural to make the distinction (vv. 6; 18; 22; 23; 29). The only exception is in vv. 13; 27; 28, where it refers to a single person speaking a single genuine language. Speaks not to men but to God is better translated, “to a god.” The Greek text has no definite article (see similar translation in Acts 17:23, “the unknown god”). Their gibberish was worship of pagan deities. The Bible records no incident of any believer ever speaking to God in any other than normal human language. no one understands . . . he utters mysteries in the Spirit: it is an interpretive decision as to whether to understand this as a reference to the Holy Spirit or the human spirit. The fleshly, or carnal, Corinthians using the counterfeit ecstatic speech of paganism were not interested in being understood, but in making a dramatic display. The spirit by which they spoke was not the Holy Spirit, but their own human spirit or some demon; and the mysteries they declared were the type associated with the pagan mystery religions, which were espoused to be the depths that only the initiated few were privileged to know and understand. Those mysteries were totally unlike the ones mentioned in Scripture (e.g., Matt. 13:11; Eph. 3:9), which are divine revelations of truths previously hidden

@@Woman_in_the_Wilderness When they began speaking in tongues in Acts 2, they were all speaking in tongues at the same time. So the Bible is not against speaking in simultaneous manner. @@ivanluther3823 you forget that in Act 2, the apostles speak in tongues that understandable by the people at that place. Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,.. " So in Act 2, it's parallel with 1 Corinthians 14:27-28 (KJV) " If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret. But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God." The tounges must be understandable by the people at that room. If not, everyone must silence.

Justin, I went to kings church today and listened to this man speak. What you said to him about god speaking and that being scripture really sunk in on him. He referenced some of that idea in his sermon. The congregation was all very nice and quite kind. I did not take communion today not because i can't, just because I was dealing with something between Jesus and I that made it inappropriate in the moment. That said I saw that what he said in this interview is who he presented himself to be today. I was glad to be able to look in on his church. He will remember me he looked clearly in my eyes several times as I sat and listened to every word earnestly. He spoke of a two edged sword, god spoke to me in that message as it can both cut things away and also do surgery to heal. God asked me to go there today, I felt a sense of urgency so I went. God said to me He needs a Carpenter and so I am. I spent sabbath day yesterday in prayer over a theft that left me with no tools, a great liss to me. So I felt drawn to go this morning and to my amazement the services were held in the church of seventh day Adventists. They only rent the building but I hold a sabbath keeping philosophy of scripture though I am not an adventist. As I pulled into the parking lot I had the thought "full circle". If you would please get this message back to him I did not speak to him but he will know who i am. It will encourage him im sure. Thanks Justin, God sees you and is very proud of you because there are farmers who are praying for rain only to have it rebuked away.

I attended an Assembly of God. I asked over and over for someone to explain to me where scripture talks about being slain in the spirit. As well as all the other “ manifestations” - I was told not everything is in the Bible🙃 Thank God, I never saw pressure for speaking in tongues. A little judgement for those who didn’t. My husband (of 26 years). Was a victim of church abuse as a teenager. He hates it when I say that. But, he was used for his gift of piano. He was never treated well or taught any sound doctrine. He also suffered a traumatic youth, loosing his mom to cancer at 18, in 1982. His life fell apart. No one from Church loved on him. The youth Pastor he traveled with, and played piano for. Nothing! I met him many, many years later. I believed he loved the Lord. I was a brand new Christian and single mom of a 1 year old. We married within 6 months. I quickly saw the emotional damage. He’s very shy, quiet, full of fear and ruled by unreal anxiety, has PTSD. At times he was verbally and emotionally abusive. I begged for help at church (Assembly of God). Was told I married him, he wasn’t their responsibility. If I prayed the right way. Had enough faith. The man of God he is called to be, the leader of our home and family. 100% of his healing/salvation was placed on me. 14 years after leaving that church - he still refuses to live life. He’s still riddled by fear and anxiety. We’re new empty nesters. He no longer abuses me with his words. He just rarely speaks. It is so sad. I prayed every possible prayer, prayed scripture, fasted. Read all the marriages books. Tried to submit and let him lead. He doesn’t lead anywhere, he doesn’t want a wife that expects anything of him. In 26 years together l, I don’t think he’s attended church with me 26 times, but maybe. He works. He punches a time clock. That’s all he can do. He’s so miserable- he won’t take care of his health. He’s sad, scared, and lost. Refusing to open a bible and learn what it has to say. I said all of that, because this man has chose to be who and what he is. If the word of faith nonsense worked. He’d be free - probably in full time ministry with a piano. He hasn’t played a piano in 2 years. I couldn’t have worked any harder for his healing and freedom.... he seems to want to be miserable :( It was so freeing to learn I wasn’t responsible for him, his behavior, choices, or decisions. My husband is. God is Sovereign. That’s what matters. I pray for him. It’s very hard to admit this is my life, and I spent to much time working to save him. So glad God freed me!!!!

But, at some point, during the years God was bringing me out of the deception, I had to stop being a victim and repent before God for my part. My pride and lust for wanting MORE of prestige, wealth, recognition, power, etc....is based in my sin nature. Thank God, in His wisdom I was a complete failure in the charismatic movement! Today, I don't regret the hurt or pain I expierence, because I see it as chastisement from my heavenly Father. I forgive these people that were suppose to be my family in God; that is all because of the grace and mercy from God. I am to blame for my idolatry of the false doctrine and those I looked up to and wanted to be just like them. Your husband is a sinner, first and foremost. Basically, he sounds like he is angry with God and needs to repent. Pray for God to open his eyes to his own sin and idolatry. Justin I remember watching a Sid Roth episode one day and he was trying to show how to speak in tongues by telling audience to start rolling words around your mouth etc I couldn't believe it! Tongues is a gift from the Holy Spirit you don't learn how to do it! I never watched him again after that! I thoroughly enjoyed listening to your video today! Another great video Justin. Thank you for sharing. God bless you abundantly in Jesus precious name 🙏 ❤ 🙌 ✝️

You're not alone. Cessationism is an extreme reaction to an extreme problem (hyper charismania). All these videos portray Calvinism as the only true expression of christian faith, it is mostly a good expression but it's not the only legitimate one. There are however some great continuationist Calvinist preachers out there like Sam Storms who has one of the best books on spiritual gifts. As for cessation, "when the perfect comes"(1 Cor 13:10) refers to Christ's return not the canonization of the NT. Be charismatic, but wear a seat belt; test all things.

Here, brothers and sisters, dear siblings in Christ, this is a KZbin must see. All of us need to cling tightly to the written word AND the leading of the Holy Spirit who will never lead us away from the truths of the New Testament. Let's keep this dialogue going. Can we come to the table, Reformed and Charismatic and have a thoughtful conversation, affirm the truths of the Christian faith, uncompromisingly, but lovingly?

Justin , there maybe many that it is learned because so many wolves preached your not saved unless speaking in tongues I’m far removed from false teachers and Calvinism as well I do speak in tongues and it was never learned Received it when I was 14 and speak it today at 64 I spoke it only once when I was14 and never realized it was an at Will gift to edify oneself not the body I could speak it and wondered often how it just came out without effort until I realized it is a gift Speaking in tongues has helped me greatly especially when I’m i. A dilemma , fear Anxiety or unrest I find it brings me closer to Him , and it also guided my prayer life as to things I’m particular as to what is on His heart versus my heart It sets the sail so to speak on the right course especially if I’m aimed wrong either by self will pride and absent of right attitude These things tongues assist me in. Combined with the fruitful mind of my own understanding Tongues is a gift and not everyone has it just like not everyone has other gifts Yes, Justin tongues do exist , yes there are fake tongues, yes real tongues are and can be misused , yes the “other tongues” in Acts were known languages and have ceased to exist once the debut of the Holy Spirit was released in Acts2 I speak in tongues a tongue that is only for edification of oneself not the “gift of Tongues” given to edify the body I wish all would prophesy Paul says but I would rather speak in 5 words in known language than thousands in an unknown He was teaching the proper place , the use and the function of tongues each for different purposes The speaking in tongues differ from the gift of tongues The purpose ? to pray when groanings and sorrow and pain and lack of expression are there for the tongues when our spirit has an advocate that intercedes on our behalf those words we can’t find to make our hearts cry to Him Love ya Justin and would love to have discourse I think you have thrown out the baby and labeled it learned behavior because tongues does not fit your theology Samson when he gave you the example was a tongue and he can’t stop it because it’s a gift to be used or not used He is stuck on Calvinism and cesseassionism because he has over corrected

Wow, what an awesome interview...it was also a good reminder of how much God has changed my life over the last five years. At time index 1:25:00 to 1:28:00, we called that "Chewing the meat and spitting out the bones". When I was in WoF / Pentecostalism, it was commonplace to accept people with abhorrent and heretical ideas on just about anything in the Bible, as long as that person was "anointed". These heretical ideas are so commonplace nowadays that many in the church have just accepted this garbage.

OH MY DEAR! This was like walking down memory lane! This was such a blessing to hear someone who has been there done that. Thank you, Brother John, for speaking in tongues I was (filled) with the (s)pirt 40 years ago and went to many Copeland meetings, Hagin and supported TBN for almost 25 years and yes I can still speak in tongues even though I have not for many years now. People are always saying, how can someone sit under false teaching for so many years? I asked the Lord many times why He allowed me to. God's ways are higher than my ways and I put that in His hads Thank you, Brother Justin!!

Well, I have to confess that a few years ago I didn’t want to take medicine for MS. At that time though, I was into all of this “speaking in tongues”, being slain in the Spirit, and the rest of that garbage! The Strange Fire Conference was a real eye-opener for me. Before I watched it, I prayed for the Holy Spirit to give me guidance, and I thought that He would affirm what I was into at the time! To make a long story short, I have renounced all that baloney that I was once into. I wholeheartedly believe that I am forgiven, because like the apostle Paul before his conversion, I had been acting in ignorance. I used to think that I was honoring the Holy Spirit, but in hindsight, I know that I wasn’t.

@@wacerahchege8 Boasting is necessary, though it is not profitable; but I will go on to visions and revelations of the Lord. I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago-whether in the body I do not know, or out of the body I do not know, God knows-such a man was caught up to the third heaven. And I know how such a man-whether in the body or apart from the body I do not know, God knows- was caught up into Paradise and heard inexpressible words, which a man is not permitted to speak. On behalf of such a man I will boast; but on my own behalf I will not boast, except in regard to my weaknesses. For if I do wish to boast I will not be foolish, for I will be speaking the truth; but I refrain from this, so that no one will credit me with more than he sees in me or hears from me. Because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, for this reason, to keep me from exalting myself, there was given me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to torment me-to keep me from exalting myself! Concerning this I implored the Lord three times that it might leave me. And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong. I have become foolish; you yourselves compelled me. Actually I should have been commended by you, for in no respect was I inferior to the most eminent apostles, even though I am a nobody. The signs of a true apostle were performed among you with all perseverance, by signs and wonders and miracles. For in what respect were you treated as inferior to the rest of the churches, except that I myself did not become a burden to you? Forgive me this wrong! 2 Corinthians 12:1-13 - www.biblegateway.com/passage?search=2%20Corinthians%2012:1-13&version=NASB1995

@@asliketheson You are SO right! I got caught up in the whole PTL Club/Jim & Tammy Bakker/et al schema - a truly satanic trap for hundreds of thousands - ; attended an AOG church and even taught pre-schoolers Sunday School (at 15-16yrs old and less than 6mos "convert"!). It was SO very easy to get all caught up in that, even and especially as a false convert.
