The owner of golden robot records put the kibosh on releasing the album because he didn’t want the material he thought wasn’t new, and said it was old material. If I’m getting the story correct they may have paid Sykes money up front, and they wanted all of it back. Last I heard it was going to wind up in court.

Coverdale kicked him out of Whitesnake because while he was recovering from a sinus issue, Sykes wanted to get someone else to do the vocals so they could get going on the recordings. Dave's giant ego took over, & he booted him. For that, I thank you Dave, cuz without that moronic move, we woulda never got to hear all the other great stuff from Sykes.

I know you've had bad experiences in the past, mostly from piss poor treatment from the record labels, you deserved better. Thank you for finally posting this. The question that I have is, since this song has been readily available since its appearance in Young Guitar magazine in early 2017 (which said that the Sy Ops record was supposed to be released in December 2017), when will we hear another of the new tracks? A demo/rehearsal of Out Alive from what I'll call the "Winery Dogs" sessions has been floating around for several years, and it seems like we've heard considerably more from leaks/speculation/interviews with other musicians than we have from Sykes directly.

Tipton, I read in a magazine once said ''I'm always aware of who's out there''about the Eruption type solo in Hell bent 4 Leather. so it was like a healthy competition & I guess helped push the duo even further.I meant it in a positive way.They never copied, sounds like they added their own twist to the influence but years later I'll bet ''Cacophony,Loudness,Vicious Rumors sort of rubbed off on KK/Tipton,you can sort of tell on Painkiller which is cool!

Sickoancestry - I agree and it says a lot about Tipton as a player. He kept evolving and kept his sound and style very much in step with the times. Such a shame that he has Parkinson’s. Ugh. Such a tragedy for one of the great metal guitarists of all time. I honestly feel Glenn Tipton is second only to Tony Iommi with regard to their contributions to metal guitar and songwriting.
