The sad thing is, they cut off the ending of this video. I saw it on MTV back in the day, and at the end, the piano player trails off, then takes the cigarette out of his mouth and blows a cloud of smoke out. That one gesture manages to capture all the nostalgia, regret over lost youth and innocence, the bittersweet feeling of an adult looking back on youth that this song is all about.

I saw them perform at a local bar many years ago. When this did this song, they were as good as any band I"d ever heard. I can still picture myself standing there with a beer in my hand. Really loved the duet at the end between the sax and his guitar. What surprised me the most is when I realized that the sax player had been in the movie. I guess they needed to cast someone as Eddie and the Cruiser's sax player, and decided he looked right for the role.

I didn't know the sax dude was in the real band. As a kid it took me awhile to accept the fact that Michael Pare wasn't the actual singer. Now this lol 😁

Played some saxophone in gradeschool and middle school. This solo was the dream for me. To be able to play like that let alone write it would have been the crowing achievement.

I used to watch this movie with my dad and uncle. I have been playing music for 20 years. Looking back, I think Eddie and the cruisers inspired me to play music and pick up a guitar. I miss you, Dad and Uncle Brian life sure goes by quickly. I have to say that's one of the best damn saxophone solos I've ever heard every note I can feel in my soul, and my heart hurts, but I can't help but listen again and again.
