The KNIFE part makes sense. It's different if you're not moving around after being stabbed. Definitely leave it in until you get help, But when you need to move, and move quickly, leaving a sharp object in your body while moving around only causes more problems.
@BichaeldeAngelo Жыл бұрын
Realistically, Joel would be dead from that stab wound because 1) Unless someone surgically explores the wound and performs cautery, dude’s gonna bleed out. Based on the rate and volume he clearly hit an artery 2) Let’s say he doesn’t exsanguinate because she packs the wound or performs cautery. He would certainly get an infection (I shudder to think what that bat has been used for) It’s a TV show. It’s not gonna get the medicine right, and if you’re holding media to that standard, the worst offenders are definitely Obi-Wan and Black Panther where inexplicably people just get up and are fine after being impaled through their midline. Also, as a fun fact, you can’t shock asystole. All those shows you’ve seen there a heart stops and they shock? Fake, we definitely don’t do that

@@bradjohnston8687 There’s already a penetrating injury with a dirty bat, the damage is done in terms of infection. He would need IV antibiotics anyway. To be honest you could make a case for pulling it or not, depends on how much he’s moving around on the horse- either way, dude would die. Ideally, they wouldn’t pull it and he would be transported so vascular and gen surg could pull it, but yeah, not an option in the apocalypse.

You aren’t supposed to pull an instrument that stabbed you out period until you get medical attention regardless of movement. What I loved about the opening scene is that the old couple sensed that Joel and Eli are good people and they won't hurt them, so they just enjoyed having people around them, they really had fun with Eli and it was also sad and beautiful because they really needed that moment, having this kid around the house bringing life, and they probably lost so much. The food cans, flashlight batteries, duct tape, and other supplies can easily be explained that they likely got these items from Bill's house as he was a survivalist. Remember in the letter he told Joel he can have whatever supplies he wanted. Now as for whether the food cans were still good that is another question.
@DaRealJoeySalas Жыл бұрын
@B.L.A. Okay as you said certain essentials were still being manufactured but my point still stands as they likely got them from Bill's house. We saw Bill obtained important materials from FEDRA as evident with him having a scanner in his possession. He had this before he even began trading with Joel and Tess too. So whose to say what other essential FEDRA manufactured items Bill could have in his possession over the years.

Joel's from Texas so it makes sense he likely knows how to handle guns plus he's had 20 years to practice but I don't think he's had any military training. When he's talking to Ellie about Tommy joining the Army I feel like he would mention if he did as well. Even just the tone he said it in makes it seem he wasn't happy Tommy joined the Army. Plus it's Tommy's truck since Joel specifically mentions Tommy was in Desert Storm, the bumper sticker said Desert Storm combat veteran and we only ever see Tommy driving it. Then in this episode he tells Ellie he was a construction contractor. Also in one of the early podcasts either Mazin or Druckmann said Joel was just a regular guy.

These non-gamers who keep going on about how games are about gameplay and not story clearly haven't played 'What remains of Edith Finch' or similar. Games that tell great stories can use the gameplay to give the player a sense of agency in the story which, if done right, can enhance the story and impact more than a passive viewing experience. There are moments in TLOU2 that are so much more impacting because you're directly involved.

When it comes to things like canned food and batteries, it depends on how large of the population the infection took and how fast. Goods are produced according to the population. If the populations is say only 10% of what it was the good could last awhile before being a problem. Unless you have groups of people immediately running around and hoarding it. It's Tommy's truck, that's why he's driving it in the first episode. He came to pick up Joel for work, that's why he comes in when they are eating breakfast.Joel tells Ellie about Tommy joining the military and getting shipped off to fight in desert storm wanting to be a hero. He mocks Tommy for wanting to save the world. It's Joel that prevents Tommy from stopping to help the family in episode 1. Joel hates FEDRA and the Fireflies equally because Joel only believes in family. It's like the rift between Michael and the rest of the family in the Godfather because Michael enlisted to fight for "strangers" instead of staying with the family. Joel was never in the military nor would he even consider doing so. As for his knowledge of guns he and Tommy are both Texans as well as hunters. You don't have to be in the military to have an exstensive knowledge of guns. In the second game it's not Joel but Tommy that uses his military training as a sniper to teach Ellie how to shoot people at a distance.

TV Ellie is just a smart ass (which I have not minded so far) but in that scene the lack of depth and feeling of relationship sith joel made the whole thing feel hollow. The second is Joel getting stabbed. This is the most memorable moment of the game and they turn it into "Huh, I've been stabbed", so flat. Now they have 3 episodes to cover the rest of the game and I just feel they can not do it justice (prequel, David, Hospital). After the first 3 episodes I thought this show was truly unique (with the cold opens and bill/frank backstory) but since then it's been just hitting plot points

@@miguelitoreyes5514 maybe "most memorable" was a bit excessive. But if you have played the game you certainly won't forget that WTF moment. The TV show moment just didn't hit the same.

Part two was very divisive. If the adaptation stays true to that story, get ready John.

John said he loved the story of the 2nd game when it came out. I really hope HBO Intervenes and changed the story so we can get more Joel

Episode 4 was definitely the weak episode. It wasn’t terrible. But it’s definitely the weak episode

So much setup for season 2 in this episode. That's what annoyed me about Dune Part 1, there was no groundwork for so many things to come in part 2

I find it incredibly suss that TLOU2 won game of the year. Lol. I hated every character in that game. GotY??? Nope.

Just because you didn’t like it, doesn’t mean others didn’t. I for one absolutely loved the game. Also there really isn’t one GOTY award/show that is the highest honor or definitive place, like the Oscars are for movies. It’s dozens of different outlets that do their own video game awards. IGN usually just has the biggest name
