Good information John. Thanks. It’s going to get worse. Used RVs are flooding the market. The RV industry made the same mistake Jeep, Ram did. Overpriced, less quality. I feel bad for the RV dealer that has to buy a lemon and resell it to the public. The dealer is stuck with junk to sell or go out of business. So now you have massive consolidation in the dealer network.

Thanks for sharing, makes perfect sense. My dealer is smaller and sticks to two brands, and as you said, has to try to sell what they get. I’m not sure many will be around for the duration without some change.

RV’s are different than mainstream vehicles. They are not a necessity. People will spend there money on other forms of entertainment. Whether it be family cruises, family vacations to resorts or cheap land to build a seasonal camp or cabin. Spending $300,000 on a piece of deteriorating junk every 7-10 yrs makes no sense…

Excellent summary video, as usual. Would be most interesting to have a review of the Class B market. There are so many Class B up fitters that are not RVIA members. We are seeing more and more Class Bs, especially out boondocking.

When you sell a product that is extremely poor in design and quality, tie the hands of the buyer for any legal recourse for unsafe unreliable trailers, cheat the buyer by selling water damaged used and even new RVs, then be prepared to go out of business. The horror stories keep me from considering buying anything newer than a 2018 model.

Just bought a 2006 35' diesel pusher for $45K. 123k miles. Fantastic quality and well maintained. This is my 3rd coach. I had three trailers before that. Been to all the RV shows the last few years. The new products are sub par in my view.

I really wish I could glean aggregate prices easily from RV Trader by RV Class. There is a report that shows auction prices, but it is usually several months in arrears and I don’t know the source, so I don’t reference it.

My prediction is this. Since Helene , campsites are going to be extremely hard to book! A lot of State Parks are closed, and the Blueridge Pkwy closed, tourist towns completely wiped out! Ect. ....good advice, ty

It’s a valid complaint regarding quality being a driver, however I still feel the economy and inflation is more a driver for poor sales. For most these are non-essential purchases and there just is not enough free cashflow for recreation. We have a 2023 Class C with full body paint (looks beautiful) and constantly get questions at campgrounds from folks with Diesel Pushers asking and wanting to look at it as they are looking to downsize from a cost standpoint. It seems people have an appetite to simplify their budget while maintaining their ability to enjoy camping.

Seniors want to down size as they don't need all that room anymore (grandchildren grow up, ect.). Some people want to have stealh capability. There was a big demand for RVs during Covid 19. People could not safely travel and wanted to keep distance. So, people bought RVs so they could still recreate with their familes. Now the baby boomer seniors are dying off so that places more RVs out there. There are many reasons that there is a glut of RVs.

@@JA-ed1tj Maybe? And maybe the industry has been building garbage for a long time now . And word has spread. I do believe many people that should have never bought a RV over the plandemic had buyers remorse.😁👍
