This is why family members and close friends can inflict the most damage, and sometimes those relationships have to end. Get rid of the toxicity. However, if authentic, these friends are fabulous sounding boards and life-long counselors - true friends.

I met Mr. Depp after he made “What’s eating Gilbert Grape”. He was a part of Make A Wish Foundation and a young boy had asked that he be his “new daddy’s best man” . The boy’s mother was getting married and JD came to Oklahoma City to the wedding chapel and spent the whole afternoon with the family and those of us who worked the wedding. He spoke to each of us asking us about our lives and was a genuinely nice guy. A bit shy though. At the end the couple had plans to honeymoon at home. JD paid for a trip, footed the whole honeymoon. This man stammering for words was not the same man who was easy in conversation. He almost reminds me of a battered woman. They are nervous, try not to make eye contact and search for words not to anger their abuser

Depp gave one of the most human explanations of how emotional issues can lead to substance use disorder, and how it starts and progressive. I've struggled w addiction for 15 years and I HATE being an addict but thank God for people like Johnny who use their moment of truth to actually tell it like it is. I don't want to speak for everyone else out there, but personally, hearing him speak so honestly and openly on his trauma, his addiction.. his flaws... its a breath of fresh air for someone like me who feels like the bottom of the barrel by society's standards. I literally yelled "exactly! Thank you!" At my phone when he said he never called taking drugs a "party" .. it was too numb himself. In my words, I saw it as survival at the time. To keep myself from crying all day or trying to seriously hurt myself. To fill an infinite gaping wound in my mind and soul that has just got bigger and hungrier over the years. It's such a lonely place. And when the likes of JD humbly speaks the way he did on this video, there's a little more hope and a lil less loneliness.

Johnny Depp is a national treasure and to bear his problems in front of the world like this just shows he has nothing to hide. Those roxys he’s talking about were NO JOKE when they were heavy on the streets back in 2015/2016 and earlier. I remember the first time I experienced withdrawal from them when I was addicted to the blue 30mg version of the pills, it literally felt like a light switch of bone cancer went threw my body in the middle of the night and only got worse with the oncoming hours. I would take 4-5 showers in the middle of the night just to try and seek some kind of comfort cus when people say you literally want to “crawl out your skin” you literally don’t want to know what that feeling actually feels like. It is absolutely soul crushing and feels like a demon is trying to come out of your body. Shitting doesn’t help, puking doesn’t help, hot showers help a tiny little bit, nothing helps but to get your next fix from the pills. PARENTS! PLEASE BE SURE TO EDUCATE YOUR CHILDREN THAT ANY PRESCRIPTION PAIN PILLS CAN BE A DEATH SENTENCE!

It’s totally disgusting and you can see her smirk every once in a while when she knows that it’s probably hurting him to talk about some things. But that is what a narcissist does. I can totally relate to Johnny. I come from a back ground of a parent who was out of control. I can see how you want to numb the pain. I wanted to numb it all out of my mind. But I was to weak to try to numb myself. My siblings did though. My sister was 10 when she started using. She was a middle child. The oldest was my brother he used sports to get away. I on the other hand loved the water. Swimming was my way out. I would leave home every morning and walk all the way across town to out city pool. I was 6 or 7. We have never recovered from our pain. Both our parents are gone now. My brother is fine I guess we don't speak. My sister is on pills and alcohol still numbing the pain I guess. Myself I am a single mom of 2 trying to shelter my children all the time. Never do I want my children to go thru what I went thru. Though I married into a same situation because I thought that was what it was like to be married. But the first time I seen my children witnessing it I got my kids and went out on our own. I fought so hard to get sole custody and we live now on our own. No one is going to come into our lives like that again. I wavered one time. Wound up in hospital and I felt I had no control. I guess you call it a nervous break. It took two weeks and I knew I was done. My kids came first and foremost. I am 52 now and I now know you have control of your own life. Make it better on your own. It can be done. Johnny Depp you can over come this. Be the person you want to be. You have always seemed so put together. I know your privacy has been what made it all seem so good for you. No relationship is worth ruining your career or life over. You have a right to have your truth told. Maybe he should stop texting people about different ways to kill her and hoping "her decomposing body is found in the trunk of a Honda". Maybe he shouldn't pay multiple doctors $100k a MONTH to script him dope. Or maybe not drink "way more" than $30k a month on booze. He is a walking disaster.

@@theTiktaktokable Well, she sure is less attractive today. And, the pitiful look. She might have it on as you say but, she looks like a plain jane today. Dig her very conservative outfit. She left most her make-off, and expensive name brands for the look she wore today. To get sympathy, as we all can agree.

What an evil looking villian she is. I see jealousy, hatred and coldness in her eyes. She's the abuser, ready to pounce at any given moment to hurt Johnny. Prayers for the millions of people who may be going through such bad relationships in their loved too. Depp will win! His genuine testimony has convinced me. If not!?. Then he truly is a remarkable actor. Go! Johnny go, go.. Johnny Be Good!

Okay, but you can't accuse someone of "jealousy" or "hatred" just because of how they look, or because of the facial expressions they make. Amber is just listening to Johnny's testimony and she isn't interrupting any of the court proceedings, so her behaviour is fine as far as I'm concerned. We can start judging her once it becomes her turn to testify.

This is educational… Like honestly, it can be used as a part of a lecture on addictions, it can be used as the flagship material of awareness campaign, it is so versatile as a content. Never seen an equally short speech to cover so many sensitive issues so eloquently. Encouraging empathy for addicted while sharing first hand experience. Gold standard in public speaking.

God can I relate to this... Sadly.. I witnessed my mom have 3 heart attacks, and my Dad who was a cop in Detroit in the 90s. I think I saw, felt and had to deal with way too much at too young of an age, and all I wanted to do was escape. I was waiting for him to use that word, that's all I've wanted to do my whole life was escape. I know it's not healthy, but it's just what I gravitated toward at that young age to try to feel normal, or feel nothing. I feel bad for him, I know his feeling. No matter who you are, you are special, and you're not alone, you just have to keep pushing. Much love ❤️

He is speaking directly from the heart and it's so telling. There's no way he could have had the measure of success if he was a raging drug addict/alcoholic like she claims. She dug up his innermost secrets and used them against him as he said..."Because it was an easy target."

I feel so bad for him, he is having to dredge up all his demons from childhood on for the world to see and hear. He is such a shy gentle man. Some of the questions are downright idiotic, and I feel they have no relevance to the case. Trying to tear down this glorious man, washing dirty laundry in public, its demeaning to watch him having to go through this. I do feel guilty watching, I feel as if I am spying on him, but I do so want him to win and want to be there to see that happen.

Johnny Depp is approaching Keanu Reeves and James Woods levels of actually based actors who stand up for logic, freedom, and the importance of individual integrity to be humble enough to own your own faults yet intelligent enough to address and logistically correct the situation with least collateral damage to any partys involved....gotta luv it👏👍

Growing up, Christianity protected me from drugs. In my late teens and early 20s, the idea of wasting my hard earned money on temporary pleasure protected me from drugs. In my mid-20s, I realized that I can never escape myself. Wherever I am, I will always be there. There is no escape. This realization forced me to acknowledge myself, accept myself and learn to love and always be comfortable with myself. And now, my love for myself protects me from drugs and toxic relationships.
