Also someone googled him and found his practice and bad reviews about how he literally let a suicidal patient of his die as a result of his malpractice. How he ignored the guardians of his patients, their calls and just gave the patient Meds instead of treating the illness. I haven't googled him myself but saw/read this review about him from another site.

There is already a mechanism in place where the court would order an evaluation if it deems appropriate, in which case this "expert witness" would be able to make a more accurate statement. What he is arguing about surely amounts to defending hearsay being taken as valid evidence

I am a psychiatrist myself and I feel ashamed of this spectacle. It makes me worry about the portrayal of our profession. Please know that most psychiatrists are decent, trustworthy doctors, especially the ones who have had their training more recently (the quality of training has improved hugely over the last decades). Most of us have had excellent, diligent training and we work in accordance with the highest ethical standards. This is one of those old bad apples in our field who make things more difficult for younger generations of psychiatrists. I hope he retires soon.

I’ve held off commenting I watched this live and now rewatching. As someone whose diagnosed PTSD agoraphobia and anxiety disorder he made me almost bust my teeth grinding so nervous. I had a doctor/psychologist like this man years ago. I’m also type 1 diabetic really sick at one point and quite literally in complete renal failure (kidney failure) which will absolutely cause you to be confused weak etc. he told me it was just my PTSD and anxiety. Nothing more. Fast forward a week later I was rushed to the ER almost died stayed there almost 2 weeks was in complete renal failure at only 23 years old. But I trusted him and THAT is what is so dangerous about “professionals” like this guy. Now 35 and so thankful to find someone the exact opposite of this guy.

I have said much the same thing on another page on YT....I said I interview a doctor if I am seeing someone new like a dermatologist. If I do not like their personality or if they are disrespectful, I cancel. I literally walked out on a doctor in Swampscott MA after sitting in a small room for 20 minutes and being well beyond my appointment time. He called me on my cell phone when I was driving home. I told him "you know I own a business and I cannot be late to this extent, Others are waiting for me". I never went back. I also do not follow their advice [sometimes] and have signed many a waiver. I got major blow back for these remarks.

That is quite different to providing a psychiatric opinion on someone you have never met, never interviewed, never reviewed his medical charts, and basically watching his movies?! Report doctors like this if you are unfortunate enough to be referred to them. You will greatly help others that WILL be hurt by their incompetence and complete lack of empathy. Dr. Cotton in east hartford connecticut is JUST like this this, and i reported him to the appropriate people. It only took one day of checking into him to be kicked out in disgrace. This guy would triple book his patients for the same times because he thought a lot of them wouldn't come because they were "crazy people", his words. I witnessed people who desperately needed help banging on his door when he wouldnt come out for their appointment. Instead, i heard him lock the door and blast his radio.
