@OctobersDream2 жыл бұрын
Exactly! Unfortunately, you and I know this first hand. Isolation is a key component. Then, you, as the victim, start to feel shame like it is something you have caused or that you deserve. It’s heartbreaking. Another thing I noticed, which is also very telling, is that you actually SEE Johnny withdraw into himself here. His posture went from that laid back, attentive, and confident posture to appearing to want to hide. He just shrank into himself. His whole demeanor changed when she mentioned how they would always run and hide at home when they were growing up.
@Kitten_Brat76012 жыл бұрын
Exactly, yes I feel you. They isolate you so they have even more control over you, so it’s just you and them. It becomes easier to believe everything they tell you. I began believing he was the only one who loved me and I didn’t deserve love, my family cut me out of my life because they didn’t care about me anymore, etc…terrible things. It only gets worse from there until it gets better (at least for me).

This case is a catalyst for change encouraging men who are abused by their partners to speak out and, more importantly, to immediately lay charges against their abusers. My brother was attacked by his partner and came to my apartment after being punched and scratched in the face and on the neck. He just wanted a place to stay. It was heartbreaking to see him look ashamed of his appearance. I took him to the police station to lay charges against her for assault. I sued her for smashing the back window of his vehicle which he was paying off, but which was still registered in my name! She lost and had to pay. Thankfully it ended the relationship completely! It’s amazing listening to her speak, how prevalent it must be for abusers to alienate their victims from their families. His sister spoke how she didn’t see him often after he got with AH and he was always in a rush. I sympathise with him as I went thru the same thing. I was given an hour which included travel time to see my mum and dad, sister, brothers when I was with my abusive ex. I’m so thankful he has such a caring sister.

This case reminds me of my brother and his ex girlfriend. She was so fucking toxic, she literally ruined my brother, emotionally and mentally so much so that he tried to committ suicide. Thankfully we found him and took him to the hospital in time. Before he met her, he was a fun loving person. He never drank or smoked, never even had a girlfriend and was such a shy quiet kid. But after their relationship, he started drinking and doing drugs. Poor guy sold his bike to buy her clothes, would always be stressed and was always worrying that he might make her mad. I am honestly so glad that they separated. His new girlfriend now is a blessing and total opposite of her. It makes me mad that people just blatantly accuse Jhonny of being a wife beater just because he is a man. Men can be victims of domestic violence too.

@@debrajol3585 This is so true. It's like the person comes out of nowhere and is completely infatuated with you. And you are hesitant like "what?" then you get to "know" them in their infatuation stage. And eventually you reciprocate. Then a nice few months. Then 2 years of wondering wtf happened, and why does this person basically hate you now? It doesn't make any logical or emotional sense when you are new to that sort of thing. I did not see him hit Amber. Did you? How many times do we need to show that Johnny is an alcoholic and drug addict and has a temper … especially when his buttons are pressed? So far, there hasn’t been a piece of credible evidence presented that proves he physically hit, kicked, punched, head-butted, pushed, tackled, etc. Amber Heard.

I had to be moved by the DA of my city in the dead of night w 2 preteen boys while my personal Antichrist was being held in jail. I was very immature in my early twenties, and I remember having arguments with my husband where I kept wanting to discuss a problem and he wanted me to stop talking. It made me so angry when he’d just walk out of the house and go for a drive right in the middle of a fight. Years later, during our divorce, he explained to me that every time he did that it was because if he didn’t leave, he was going to hit me. He never once did, and I never feared that he might. My point here is to agree that walking away from a fight isn’t hiding-sometimes it’s the only way to shut someone up. I totally understand why Johnny would need a second room to escape to when he’s with a woman who constantly wants to argue or manipulate.

My dad was withdrawn from everyone, hid from her by going on long business trips or just hiding in their room, flinching anytime she got too close, etc. And when she couldn’t get him, she’d come at me instead. The lying, screaming, physical assaults, everything. Especially when she wasn’t on any medication, which she wasn’t my entire childhood basically. I can't look at Amber Heard. I don't know this person but her Pokerface, the little nuances when the sister is saying something. You can see and feel that she knows exactly what she did and that she does not like the current situation. The more I see and hear from Johnny, his reactions and how he tells everything is not acting. For sure he is acting but not in a way of lying, but being honest about every bit and open to tell the world what happened. I really hope that this also gives him strength and peace.

Yep, my former daughter in law did the same to my son as well, he was the one with all the bruises and marks, even assaulted him one day in my home, and I went to call the cops and he asked me not to……he was so embarrassed, and said that it would only make it worse for him. Each episode she got more and more abusive, I pleaded with my son to call the cops….I was sure one day she would kill him. He finally called them….and she spent 1 night in jail, as it was her first arrest, second time he called, cops wouldn’t even take her to jail, they said because there was no witnesses and it was her word against his, and the kicker was they visually saw the marks on him, she was in her vehicle trying to leave when the cops pulled up, with not one mark on her ! This is how biased the cops are when it comes to taking a woman’s side, even if the evidence is there to support the man’s side !!!!! She acted just like Amber, the instigator, the screaming, throwing items at him, preventing him from leaving by taking his car keys from him and physically blocking the door, and if he managed to make it almost out the door she would hit him with her hands, or anything that was laying near the door (one time it was an umbrella ) It took years for him to get divorced from her, she’s still a nightmare through using the 2 kids they had together, and yes she did this all in front of them, and she still got custody of them. It time the courts start holding these women accountable, and stop believing that all women should be believed!!

Like to judge as people's flaws are what define them, which is ironically how narcissists think. One of the biggest role models in my hometown was a drug addict and is open about the struggles he faced during those years and how blessed he is to have found salvation and deliverance from such shackles. I know my words will fall on deaf ears (or blind eyes), but the point is no human, let-alone role model, is without their own personal baggage judging the next person as if that's the culmination of their worth is not only hypocritical, but fallacious at the very core.

So throughout the past week during the Depp/Heard trial we have learned: •Women can verbally assault men in front of everyone and it's perfectly fine. •A woman can poop on a man's pillow and laugh with her friends about it and that's fine •A woman can cut off a man's finger tip in a heated argument and no one bats an eye •A woman can mock a man's mental health & addiction •A woman can gas light a man into believing horrible things about himself that are not true •A woman can smirk and laugh during court proceedings while a man is forced to relive horrible experiences •A woman can talk poorly about a man's kids •A woman can put make up and finger nail polish on her and the law will pass it off as bruises and blood •A man can be trauma bonded into submission •A man can love hard and be fearful of failure and force himself to stay •A man can battle addictions but like everyone else, cannot do it alone. •A man can lose his career over allegations but a woman with the same keeps her job. •A man is not allowed to defend himself in court without harassment •A man is not allowed to have a fair trial because the judge backs the woman •A man is judged because he worries how the accusations will affect his children, family, etc. •A MAN CAN BE A VICTIM OF ABUSE AND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE.
