I gotta say, at this point, knowing what we know about Mozz and having seen Marr live, I would genuinely almost prefer a Joyce/Rourke/Marr lineup without the bastard. Love those old records, but feel considerably better giving Johnny my money than our lost old friend Steven. He certainly wrote some of my personal favorite lyrics ever, but to answer the OP’s question with another question… Now imagine this beautiful scene ruined by Morrissey using his platform to progress divisive far right rhetoric. Had a chance to see Johnny Marr recently in concert with The Killers. He was excellent, really had a great vibe and you can tell he really enjoyed performing for the audience. Glad I got a chance to see him live. Performed several of his own hits and a couple of Smiths songs. Came back on stage with Killers for the encore and performed this song.
