Hey there, I’m from Rhode Island. Any way you can cover mob ties to North Providence via Boston? I know a little about the Patriarca family but would like a little more deep dive if your so inclined. Back in the day, little state + big corruption in “Little Rhody” ✌🏽

You know I love a channel when I let the ads play out or even click on the advertiser so the creator gets max revenue from my view. Great work like this deserves it. Now to check the merch.

This would make an AWESOME movie! They don't even have to completely derail the pacing of the movie by pandering to women, with a contrived made up love interest, for our protagonist AND antagonist! Great storytelling, AFBM! I REALLY LOVE that song in the background! It's small personal touches, aside from your fact checking and topic of discussion, that make your channel stand out.

Even though the background music you use is stirring, when you speak, I feel like I'm witnessing these events, like I'm there on the streets, in the brothels, the bars, backrooms, I can literally see and feel the people

Great show I heard or read years ago Johnny Spanish claimed to be related to the Spanish military commander of Cuba in later 1800’s with last name of Weyler who was brutal in putting down Cuban insurrection and is considered by historians to have started the idea of concentration camps

Something tells me Johnny was of Neapolitan descent. Naples has a heavy Spanish influence, with many speaking Spanish as well, and a lot of the natives have a darker complex than other Italians.. Much like my Grandfather*
@afewbadmen.2 жыл бұрын
Could be but his mother was Spanish.
@pauliedibbs90282 жыл бұрын
@@afewbadmen. If they did meet in Italy, I'd have to bet it was Naples. The Spanish influence is still heavy there till this day; Naples being home to the famous Spanish Steps. Lots of Spainards still live there and the _goodfellas_ of today like to hide out in Spain. Funny fact, the word 'Guapo' in Spanish means 'handsome' or 'bold' but in Naples it means a bonified gangster lmao
@davidemelia6296 Жыл бұрын
His mother was a Sephardic Jew - they were mostly persecuted away from the Iberian peninsula, from Spain and Portugal, in the 1400s. But his dad was Italian, and his real name was Giovanni Mistretta (Mistretta is a town in Messina in Sicily). So it could be that he did have Neapolitan descent - there were plenty of Napoletano people in America at the time - but he was probably of Sicilian and Sephardic descent.

Good God - all these gangsters with guns couldn't hit the broad side of a barn for all the shooting they did ! Spanish had to be right next to you to kill you. I don't think anyone of those guys really knew how to aim from a distance back then, or bothered to practice. It was damned dangerous to be next to or near their target if they were shooting from more than twenty feet away.
