The full routine was hilarious. It turns out they live on the same block in Brooklyn, but they don't know any of the same people.She mentions all Irish people, and he all Jewish. Then he invites her to his house for dinner, but his mother is making a meat dish, so she can't eat it because it's Friday. He says I thought they changed that, and she says Yes but we're Orthodox!

@@egziabherfreeman1374 And even in the '60s there was a version of the internet called the ARPAnet. But back in this era "computer dating" was more along the lines of a computer program that acted as a sort of matchmaker, sorta like an offline version of eHarmony.
@colossusforbin54844 жыл бұрын
You pretty much had to go to an office that specialized in that sort of dating. You didn't do it from home. I'm sure it was expensive. If you watch some old sitcoms from the early 70's, there's a lot of episodes about 'computers' (usually screwing up).

Home computers (like, small enough to fit on someone's desk) have been a thing since the 1970s! And there was a version of the internet all the way back in the '60s. Also, my broke-ass Catholic grade school had a room with several Apple II PCs in it as far back as the mid '80s that they used primarily for special education students, so they've been a thing for a good long while.
